Do you think things would remain the same? I'd say.............................................................................................................no
So this is a personal opinion thing, and without any actual prediction for the MS price cut, and just a simple yes/no question, I'd say "NO" they obviously won't stay the same.
Is there a point to this thread? I'd also say no to that.
Would you like to expand on the questions and what exactly you are looking for in a response?
I'm with you on this one, things would definitely be different. Dropping the PS3 by $100 is the equivalent of Sony performing public sudoku.
Sony will be losing so much money that it wouldn't have any funds to make a PS4, and the entire division will crash and drag the rest of Sony down like an anchor. Then the company will explode into billions of tiny pieces of candy for all the little children to run around cheerfully and gobble up.
Microsoft would then take over as the leading console maker. The 360 would definitely outsell the Wii if it had a huge price drop, and we all know Nintendo wouldn't ever think of lowering the Wii's price because they're all greedy bastards who only want your money. Iwata and co. are complete sellouts to the casuals and forgot about all of us amazing hardcore gamers who brought them to glory. Fanboy rage is definitely going to sky-rocket over this issue in the years to come, and it will only help Microsoft crush Nintendo under their feet.
Then we will all be playing new Halo games for the rest of our lives.

Sony will be performing public number puzzles? Neat.

Awesome. Cmon SONY cut the price of the PS3!!!
I hope the sudoku comment was deliberate :P
Anyway, if Sony cut the price $100 in the next week or whatever, the entire company would go under
Sony is so stupid sometimes. They cut the price of the already cheap PS2, making it easier for people to buy more PS2's and less PS3's. Way to go Sony!

duh demand isnt as high for ps2's. meaning even though the money comes from the same company they will be losing less with less consoles sold. not only that but they would still be making profit on every ps2 and sell more games and accessories. also ps2s could be phased out this year. ps3s wont be phased out so if your gonna drop its price they better be willing to stick to it.
I think Ps3 sales will rise alot and it will probably start outselling the 360.
