Reggie if you want a big game like that on the Wii, do something about it: negotiate, pay or force them to make it, but dont whine especially now when the game is released.

He is trying to make it seem like he cares about the core audience. He's on your side guys!!
April fools! He only cares about the bottom line! teehee

Yeah I remeber when me, Sony and Microsoft went to the ol swimming hole.  We swim all day and use to catch and cook big ol catfish and seranade under the stars.

Oh course Microsoft or Sony sure don't care about profits, or marketshare or expanding there audiance.  Nope there old fashion and enjoy the simple things in life with the old core gamers like myself.

that's not my point.
my point is that Reggie is playing sides.

I think there were a number of reasons why RE5 could and/or was not done on the wii but the biggest technical hurdle cited by the producer of the game was that Sheva's AI is just too advance for the wii.

I think Reggie had a similar outburst like this last year with Dead Space (and maybe some other games?), and now the wii is getting Dead Space: Extraction, and Capcom has already announced a new Resident Evil game for the wii.

uh..... I don't know, Sheva's script is hardly impressive, it's actually quiet crappy.

Doesn't say much for the wii now does it.

na, the devs were probably just bad at writing scripts or put too much junk in it since she's only good as a junk box and some what of a bad aimbot.

Hey, if you think you can make a superior game to RE5, then be my guest.

It's quite easy to critize the AI in RE5. However, it's quite another thing to understand what actually went into making Sheva's AI which I hazard a guess you do not.

It's not about me, if you really want to ask, I think it's more about Mikami, and he didn't work on RE5 and it's now a co-op game that's not one bit survival horror, a dumb AI for single player and people are paying 60 bucks for it /shrug.

I do know how AI works, and I'm not impressed by RE5 one bit and that's definitely not the reason that it's not on Wii, but this was originally a PS3 project so I'm not surprised.

A big business trying to appeal to a mass customer base?  Who ever would of thought of that.

Luckily for us Microsoft and Sony don't, ah the joys of summer rifting down the river with both of them, stopping by the nearest river side bank to fire roast the corn we stole from old man jenkins.  Unlike Nintendo who turned out to be some kind business, good old Micro and Son kept it old school and kept it simple, kept it oldschool, kept it hardcore.

Well said!

A lot of people don't realize that the main reason why Sony and Microsoft are catering so heavily towards the "Hardcore" gamer is because they believed that they were the most profitable demographic. They assumed that since "Hardcore" gamers were willing to buy more expensive hardware, buy more games on average, pay for game-related services, and buy downloadable content that they could easily cover all the costs associated with catering to them ... Unfortunately (for Sony and Microsoft) the approach they took to cater to the "Hardcore" gamers drove development costs and hardware losses to a level where the "Hardcore" gamer is the least profitable demographic on the market at the moment.

I'd take the new RE rails shooter coming out on the Wii over RE5 any day. In fact, I'd be pissed off if Capcom made a Wii version of RE5 because it would be a waste of effort that could have been used to make a completely new adventure survivor horror Wii RE game, or hell, even a RE4 style remake of RE2.

You'd be pissed of if campcom made a Wii version of Re5? I've gotta say thats pretty wack.

I am soooooo happy he is finally stepping up to the plate and speaking out for all of us. Capcom has been screwing Nintendo owner with all of these remakes and these ports. So Reggie speaking out is good for people like me and you who want those games over to the wii. Look at RE4 and how well it did not the Wii. I am shocked and angry that Capcom did not make RE 5 for the Wii. They made us some half ass game.
