i hope you get rrod for your xbox360. thats the only way to convince you to buy a wii.

i agree but if am buying the wii ill wait a little more and see if nintendo announces some more zeldas metroid and marios for the current year. Oh almost forgot does the wii looks good on a HDTV?????? i mean with no weird squares like when you see unscaled dvd on a HDTV? 

I have a 32" and my parents have a 54", and it looks fine to me on both. It isn't the same as an HD source obviously, but it is way better than the few PS2 games I have.

Madworld- Lot's of killing, looks nice, great story and awesome control. The story is a little bit short though.

Metroid prime 3: great control and story. Great design art as well.
Mario kart wii: Cool game to play with your friends and a nice online experience on the wii.
Super smash bros brawl: AMAZING game to play with your friends. You can use the gc controller, so you're not forced to play with the wii mote.
World of goo: Amazing game and very original.
Fire emblem

Good upcoming games: No more heroes 2, the conduit, new zelda for wii, some good sport games like tennis and golf with wiimotion+ made be EA, wii sports resort, Punch out!, Excite bots,etc

lol I know how it looks. Yes deep down I've always felt the Wii is a toy but I feel this isn't even my POV anymore, but more the viewpoint forced upon by my incessant relatives. You know the drill, you go over for a "family gathering" and everyone gets forced to have a go at bowling. I'm terrible at it because I've never played it and don't get any enjoyment except feeling put on the spot...

But I'd like to explore it's proper game library, noteably Mario Galaxy and any RPG etc.

Thanks everyone for posting, both the critisism of my post and the game suggestions are welcome, it's good to hear from different people what they think on the whole Wii craze. My reason for wanting one is simple, I know there is something good there somewhere as I refuse to believe that the whole WORLD has been caught up on a mere marketing gimmick from Nintendo. I have more trust in the world than that, but not much more lol.

But thanks very much for the games listings, in all honesty I didn't realise there was that number of (only imo) "proper" games of good quality.

i havnt got the Wii or the DS for the same reasons you have listed. that being said i may pick up a DS tomoz i dont know yet.

as for the Wii it has Wiifit that should be good n it. The thing is i wouldnt pay nomore then 150 for a Wii and Wiifit because for me it isnt worth the money

Here's my take on the whole thing: Right now, console gaming is going through one of it's most amazing transformations ever. 10 years from now, millions upon millions will remember the Wii as the most monumental console and gaming machine ever. That's not my opinion, if the current trends continue, it will be a fact. Anyone who loves games, and video games in particular should be super excited about this, I know I am, for the first time since the SNES/Genesis area. Right now, you have the choice, when your kids ask you in 15 or 25 or however many years from now if you remember the Wii, you can either say, "Yes son, I used to play that thing to death" or "No, I was more interested in something called the Xbox 360". If you go with that last option, your kid(s) will look at you with the same dumbfounded expression that kids today put up when they parents tell them "No, I never took the chance to experience the Ramones live, I was much more interested in polish folk song back then". The choice is yours, the Wii wins with or without you, but think about the children....
