Forums - General - So I'm trying to woo an exotic dancer into a serious relationship

You wouldn't be her only boy friend. Certainly not the only guy she's sleeping with. Idiot friend learned that too.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

so I have her phone number, some pictures on my iPhone and a tentitive date for sushi and the symphony. I'm elated. Stay tuned to this likely rollercoaster ride that will end in disaster.

Nice work!  Keep us posted.  And good luck

Damn. Sushi and the symphony? You are great at faking it like you have some class. Girls love that.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Solid effort and don't cut yourself short since you never know what might come of it.

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.

Make sure she knows she is supposed to eat the sushi, not wear it. She is a stripper after all.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Update: today at 1am, I texted her infoming her that I had put the symphony plans on hold in favour of bringing her to a party at a record producer's house party next Sunday. (she wants to be a singer-songwritter, so I figure it would be a sure thing for her. ) 20 hours later and there is still no reply.

Other than lack of interest or party-girl forgetfulness, what could cause this failure to comunicate? Do all modern cellphones And cellphone plans allow for the reception of text messages?

I'm felling kinda bumbed, but that's what happens when you swing for the fence and strike out. No regrets (I have not abandonned all hope either. )

I've been there. Don't even dream about it. Strippers are the most charismatic, manipulative, exciting, lying, fun, heartless people in the world. She'll screw your dad and make YOU feel guilty. Unless you're into playing serious mind games, just let it go. I mean it.
