Forums - General - The disturbing art of Beksinski!

I find that he is an amazing artist.

Zdzisław Beksiński (24 February 1929 - 21 February 2005) was a renowned Polish painter, photographer, and sculptor who is best known as a fantasy artist. Beksiński executed his paintings and drawings either in what he called a 'Baroque' or a 'Gothic' manner. The first style is dominated by representation, with the best-known examples coming from his 'fantastic realism' period when he painted disturbing images of a surrealistic, post-apocalyptic environment. The second style is more abstract, being dominated by form, and is typified by Beksiński's later paintings. Beksiński was murdered in 2005.

I must say it's quite unique in its concept and I actually like it.

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.

This is quite cool!

Actually i find it really amazing, and unique.

its not "Sad" its "Dark" like post apocalyptic kind of way.

he still needed a hug and someone to tell him that despite how "dark" he sees the world there is still light and there always will be (well until the sun explodes but then were all fired so yeah) light at the end of the tunnel

@mesoteto
Deeper art provoke alot of emotions and nostalgia, colorful art makes your day better.

thats how i see it.

i have a warped view of art,
I actually failed a drawing assignment once b/c when the teacher asked what deeper meaning I was going for I said none, I simply wanted to see if I could capture the subject and make it nice picture

According to him the difference b/t an artists and a hack is the artist always looks for what the truth is

After that regardless of if I was trying to convey some intangible or not I made it dark and dreary in my explanation and the lowest I got was a b, (its also why I laugh hardest at the part in IT when bill talks about his college days, I was creeped out at first reading that b/c I was like whoooaaa!)
