On topic - They will discontinue when it is 6 months till the PS4's release

PS2 will continue to be manufactured for a while.

I'm guessing that in March 2011 SONY will announce they ceasing production, stock in the channel will take 12 months to run out in the west and 24 months in regions like south America.

The reason SONY will continue manufacturing PS2's is because as long as SONY can sell 5-8 million per year its worth their time to make them...

Around the beginning of 2011, hell the PS2 might even make it into the next generation lol

With the price cut coming tomorrow the PS2 should be good and alive till atlease the end of the year, then after that Sony can still make another price cut $75? and then the PS2 will be back in the game.

There gonna hit the 10 year mark for the PS2 for sure just to prove that, that's what there going to do for the PS3.
