All the other 6th Generation Consoles have been dicontinued...but the PS2 is still going strong so when will it Discontinue??

PS2 shipments to retail will hit 140m around September 2009 (136.8m shipped through Dec 08).

I figures thats when they'll stop making them, but there are enough left in the channel, and enough demand that it will probably continue to sell from retailers to gamers into early 2011.

Probably some time in 2010... which gives it a 10 year life like the PS1 had.

not until ps3 catches up with the 360

I think the PS1 Had a life cycle of 12 years!!

Well, here in Brazil they will start to produce the ps2 this year and have a plan of five year. Don't be surprised, here we have master systems and NES clone in the ending of the first decade of the 21th century, i wouldn't be suprised if I see a brand new ps2 beeing sold in 2020 here in Brazil...

That is a very tough question since the console is doing so well and still sells on par with some of the new gen consoles/handhelds!

I think it won't be until 2011-2012!
