Forums - Nintendo - No More Heroes/Red Steel Bundle?

Anyone else see this?  I just saw a box in a gamestore that was Redsteel and No More Heroes in the same box.  Thought that was interesting.

Also they were out of Madworld.  Seems a bit early for that... or late as the case may be.

Yea i heard about that.

SEGA is doing the same with Sonic and the secret rings and Super monkey ball.

Yeah, I think there was a thread about it a couple weeks ago.

Here's the game in the database (I guess it's being tracked separately).

And here's the old thread.

I read somewhere that both games are burned to the same disc. Don't see how that could be true.

From what I know, a lot of the data on a disc is junk data, or filler data. So I guess they could remove a lot of that data and replace it with the other game.

Gamecube games are like a third of the size of wii games, and these 2 games weren't really anything that couldn't be done on the gamecube visually, so perhaps even together, these didn't take up the whole wii disc.

The news of this came out a short while back, but this is the first I've heard of someone seeing them in the wild. I still want to know is it two discs in there or is on the same disc.

Not a bad deal if you're into those type of games. Both are flawed, and neither is really A-team material, but for $15 a piece you won't be going too wrong...

Yeah.  I already own both of them.  Bought NMH and got Red Steel as an X-mas gift.

Just found it odd.

Red Steel really isn't that bad... I think the major backlash of the game still was that everyone was going in thinking the swordfighting would be just as intergral as the gunfighting.

I know when i first heard of the game I was thinking about sneaking around with the sword and taking out thugs.

Wonder if this moved any significant number of games and if so how it would be tracked.

Edit: Ahh it's in the database... and apparently no.

They two games aren't even from the same publisher if i recall.

@Izaaz: The idea of having the junk data on the disc, is because of having the data as close as possible to the outer edge on a CAV drive. I would guess that Wiis drive would be similar to GC drive, when the data would be read from the outer edge first (which would mean that only 360 would gain from the junk data), so there shouldn't be junk data on the disc.
Even if the games would fill up the whole disc, both of the games are on a single layer disc, when they both would still fit to a dual layer disc.
