Forums - PC Discussion - $350 PC that runs Fallout 3 better than PS3 & 360.

The best argument in favour of a cheap gaming PC, IMVHO, is that if you have anyway to buy a new PC, mainly for non gaming purposes, you can add a few quids to improve its gaming performances.
This way a PC becomes almost unbeatable with little cost if you are mainly a retrogamer, an entry level with mid-range GPU added is often more powerful than high-end PC's one year older and will run most games already out in bargain edition at full speed. But also most new games using older but reputed engines and games relying on large masses of players, like MMORPG's.
OTOH, if you always need the latest game, and the more power hungry, the better and you need to run it exclusively at highest res with all effects on, your PC gamer life will be always very expensive.

cords Um, they'd come with the case?

Umm no they dont. They only come with the necessities. Power cable, internal cables. No HD cable, HD audio.

No installation You build it yourself.

Yes and there is a cost for that, my time and energy are important to me

shipping Neither does a PS3 ordered over the internet.

Why, when I can just go to the store?

tax Neither does the price of a PS3. true, but for a very small minority can save tax by crossing state line.

S-video capable video card It will support connection to an HDTV, via HDMI or DP.It has TV-out for SD TV.

No it does not have Tv-out, because I checked, liar.

it is however: noisier Nope.

No noisier than a PS3 or X360.

not quieter than ps3, that video card is notorious for its fan

ugly

And the X360/PS3 isn't?

Not like that ugly case, keyboard, and mouse

5 times the size micro-ATX FTW.

None of those parts are micro atx FTL, what the hell is your deal. WHy are you lying to me

underpowered (420w PSU tsk tsk) As I said above, with those specs you could get away with a 300W PSU. Yeah, OP said he wanted to OC, good luck with that. A 300 watt power supply would crackle when you put the video card in there.

On top of that, there are no fans in the case, and I can't tell if there is a heat sink for the processor since hte link leads t a forum. I'm guessing that it does not.

1. Cables are provided with the case and motherboard sometimes PSU.

2. So your a mindless drone that does nothing but eat, sleep, and work? find time. It only takes maybe a half hour to build a PC.

3. And you dont get taxed ordering on the internet but there are shipping costs. Who cares this point is stupid and useless.

4. lol, no.

5. that is a very basic but nice case... quit spreading propaganda it works nicely. I admit Keyboard is nasty but $5 more fixes that issue.

6. switch to a micro-atx motherboard with a CPU deal.. they exist. Still WHO CARES

7. meh, cant argue or agree.

8. A desktop like this doesnt need a ton of fans. If anything by a cheap fan for $2.99 for the back. CPU comes with processor.

dude Fallout 3 is not a tough game to run. My stock computer could run it just fine and I hardly ever use it for gaming.

Try and play Crysis on good settings for less than a PS3/360

@SSJ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814140095

This is a better card, its the same bus width but it has far more compute performance and it performs exceedingly well at the target resolution of 1280/768 for an HD TV which has a decent scaler built in. It could run Crysis on High for about the same $$$ and it can be added to any PC with a PCIx 16 slot spare.

Tease.

Try to play Crysis on a 360 or PS3....

Had to change my sig to get some moderator to quit bitching about it......

Console = put in disc and play, easy to transport, doesnt take up as much space, auto updates everything, and 4 people can play on one TV on one game disc, and online is unified whereas PC has seperate friends lists and servers for every single game. For those reasons, console is still my choice.

PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

Some people say that consoles are less of a hassle to own than PC's, I say it is the other way around. I would not want to deal with Microsoft or Sony support, I have heard stories that they are not easy to deal with. On the other hand, if my optical drive breaks in my PC, I remove it and replace it with another. My computer is still working, and if the older optical drive is still under warranty, I can send it in. I also have a tendency to buy hardware from companies I know have good customer support, like ASUS.

Any maintenance I do on my PC I have to do anyway because I use the computer for far more than gaming. When you factor in all the things you can do with a PC vs what you can do with a console, PC is better bang for your buck, even when Sony and Microsoft sell their consoles at a loss. Also, the games are cheaper. Also, it has better backwards compatibility.

Another thing. If a developer releases a game I like on a console, but the frames per second is not to my liking, I am stuck. There is nothing I can do. If I buy a PC game that doesn't perform as well as I would like, I put it on the shelf for a couple of years. When I buy a computer upgrade, the game runs better.

Haha, no really.. whats Starcraft?...

You own Warcraft 3 and its expansion, don't pretend you don't know the only RTS game bigger than that one.

True i own Warcraft 3 rain of chaos and Frozon throne but NEVER heared of a game called Starcraft, i know this "person" starcraft hear on VG but didnt know there was a game, let alone a franchise of it.

Since you mention warcraft i can only assume its a Blizzard game?

I'm a little late for this, but you guys should cut him a break.  He is only 18 years old and starcraft was released in 1998.  He would have been about 8 years old when it was released.

How the hell do you build a computer? =(
