The other day I was kickin back on the couch, playing GTA IV on my HTPC in resolutions console owners could only dream of,

GTA IV on PS3: 640p

360: 720p

PC: 1280p  (though my TV only goes up to 1080p)

I was also downloading the movie "Iron Man" in full 1080p in the background. When I finished playing, my download was done too, so I watched Iron Man in the same resolution as Blu Ray.

I'm feelin good about my investment :)

So you must have been playing GTA for hours and hours and hours. What about extracting the movie? Most of those 1080p downloads are in RAR format. AND its almost a certainty that the movie had been compressed atleast a little.

So really, you werent getting the quality of blu-ray and you had to wait to download it, and now its taking 20GB of your harddrive.

That being said, I do the samething

God I hope not. Controllers would only completely ruin the PC as well.

The funny thing is you're bragging about playing a year old game and watching a year old movie. I think the greatest thing about being a PC fan is that you can play games that console gamers played months or years ago and then brag about it on forums...WITHOUT EVEN HAVING TO GET OUT OF YOUR SEAT!

Now that's convenient.

Change the guy's game and movie to something more recent and it still holds to be VERY true.

^ That was pretty funny

Almost bought the PC version of GTAIV when it was on sale through Steam for $30 ($25? I forget). And then I realized not only had I not actually finished the console version of the game, but that I had actually stopped playing the game altogether a good six months before the PC version had even been released.

That being said, I have all previous GTAs on Steam and don't play any of those either.

I did start playing GTAIV again a month or so back and yes, the low render resolution still bothers me, but not enough to buy the game again so I can stop playing it on PC as well.

4.3GB is a 720p BluRay rip.....

A true 1080p BluRay can be as big as 45GB. The average should be about 25-30GB.

I can proove you wrong easily, sadly that would get me banned instantly by twestrm or some other mod. Trust me, it's 4.3 gigs for 1080.

@non-gravity

That was really the case when the PC version has been released, because it has enormous system requirements. I think a patch fixed that by now.

and the mod communbity would also like to greet non-gravity.
