I bet a its a PS2 cut, and firmware update for PS3. Nothing major but still great news. Who wouldn't want a PS2 for $100 considering it has like 50 AAA games.

Damn, 50 would usually be an exaggeration, but it actually is over 50. May even be 100 AAA games.

Price cut on the ps2...I never considered that...but it works in some respects. The bottomline is making more money, so since the ps2 isn't selling at a loss, if you can cut the price and boost it sales (dunno to whom), you can then account for the price cut, whereas if you cut prices on the ps3 and boost the sales, you actually end up losing more money.

I still think a similar PSP price-cut ($30) would have been a better idea. Everyone's got a PS2 already, and I don't think it will get the boost Sony are expecting from the price-cut...

Hell, a $50 PS3 price-cut would have been more effective.

there is corrently news on the ps3 that noone knows about ad cant be found on the net i ll give it to u now the DS3 has a slight update the newer versions that r out have a one piece design meaning that they dont have that little piece in between the r1 and r2 its all one piece and the internal are a little diffrent

If Sony cuts the price of the PS2 to $99, I will buy a 2nd one, just so I can have one of those new, sleek, internal power supply models, and also have a spare for the years to come.

I could probably install it in a minivan or somesuch (DVD player and game machine is awesome for long roadtrips), since my older slimline only takes 45W max, I bet the new model is like 30W or less.

after like 8 years the ps2 is still selling. that console is just invincible and now a price cut?. well we still dont know what it is, but if it is a price cut then that console is going to be like god jajaja.
