Never donate blood and then drink beer.

Yesterday I donated blood, but last night I went to my mates party, I decided to have a couple of beers figuring a few wont be harmful. Turns out they tell you not to drink after giving blood for a reason, two beers in and I was hammered (as if I had 10 or something). I never get bad hangovers, I'm usually quite lucky, but I am suffering from an epic hangover this morning. I learnt my lesson and I will never give blood and drink beer again.

Moral of the story: If you want a cheap night out donate blood first.

There's an absolutely good reason why you cannot drink alcohol within 24 hours of blood donation, your organism is so weakened from the loss of blood that it won't be able to fend off alcohol poisoning should such a thing occur.

You got off lucky i have heard and read about people that died after doing what you did!

I made a mistake, simple as, I thought a beer wont do any harm and I enjoy a good beer, then I had one more because my mate gave it me. It was a mistake, everyone makes them, it's no reason to go insulting my intelligence. It's not like I donated blood and then shot up with heroin.
