Am i the only one afraid there might not be a lock-on for the screen

What are you talking about?

remember in metroid prime 3 how when you press Z or maybe C (i'm not sure) you can't move the camera so that you can shoot things near the end of the screen.

They've said that they have a soft-lock, which means that it will keep your target on screen, but it won't center it on the screen so you can blast it without aiming. Also, I think the soft-lock might only be usable against flying targets.

I hope they have it for ALL fast enemies (good to know they at least have something like that, now I can rest my fear).

I also didn't know you could do that in MP3.... is that on the non-advanced seting or have I just forgotten I used it (I started the game with "advanced" controls.

As for the camera option... with all the custom controls I think there is an option to have the camera "locked" as in, it doesn't move until you point to the very edge of the screen.... but you still have the option to turn using the control stick instead, at least that is the option I am hoping for and something that seemed to be hinted at in one of the earlier demonstration videos (which is where I got the term "locked")

If you're going to use the control stick to turn, then... what about side steps?

I don't think that'd be reasonable.

I'm getting excited...

Former something....

Well I have no confirmation... but personally I would love it to be mapped to the nunchuck tilting control.... so tilt the nunchuck left/right and you strafe left/right.

If you've played SSX Blur you would know how good that can feel, and it is just as accurate and responsive as a control stick.

Edit. Here I found the old thread with the video that seems to give me some hope.
http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=56977

If you watch the second video and pause at 2:05... the guy is going through the different camera options, and that one is called "drudge" which has the explanation:
"Camera is rock-solid, so that you can focus 100% on aiming. Steering player around world is controlled with nunchuck"

Personally with the huge amount of customisation I think I will enjoy The Conduit a lot anyway.... but if what I am gathering from that holds true, then I will be able to use the control stick just like I could in Goldeneye back on the N64... because I hate using the same control stick for moving forward as for strafing.

I actualy want this game. All the infos/videos about it that I've seen lately changed my mind. I'll probably buy it once it releases in Europe.

I can see now why Wii-fans are hyped for it. Although I'm personally not that impressed by graphics and art style, you can really feel it has high production values once you see it in motion and the whole configuration options are awesome, very nice attention to detail. I hope this game will be good and do well.

yep, Sega will be pleased no matter how bad or ?decent? the sales will be.

The MP3 lock on is with all control schemes, and while I am not 100% sure, I believe it's the Z button. I used it a lot against bosses, and it's really convenient. It works just like the lock on in MP1 and 2, but you can move your cursor around of course.

I can't wait until The Conduit comes out, it looks fun!
