Forums - Nintendo - Sin & Punishment is HARD

Well I played it with the GC pad and can't say I liked it... analogue shoulder buttons feel wrong for games designed without them.

As for Khuutras graphical justification... what use is it if it looks like ass for the first half of the game?

Perhaps I am in the minority here though, given I was also very dissapointed in one of my other VC purchases: Lylat Wars (Starfox 64 to you Americans). It doesn't help with that game that it doesn't seem to explain how you get to the other planets, (I got to the last level with the route along all the lowest planets) I had to look online to find out that the entrances to them seem to be hidden along in the middle of levels. And I just couldn't be bothered doing them in the end... so I only played that for about 2.5 hours. (The average for that on the Nintendo Channel is a more respectable 4.5 hours)

Or perhaps the two games have simply not aged well and I am not acting upon nostalgia? because I thoroughly enjoyed Super Mario 64... another game I had not played before Virtual Console. So I conclude SM64 aged a hell of a lot better than Lylat Wars and S&P.

I actually thought the game looked pretty damn good all the way through, especially given how the number of enemies on screen dwarfed even Starfox 64 (which was a ton for the time).

And its use is that it is awesome. That one sequence really was awfully neat.

I'm not saying it isn't technically impressive....it is. But aesthetically it isn't... there are a lot of grey spikes running/flying past other grey spikes.

Jet Force Gemini is another game I played well after N64s death (I bought it cheap in about 2005) and that was both technically and aesthetically impressive, although the controls were a little clunky and took some getting used to.

Well, yeah, but Rare was working some kinda voodoo back in those days.

JFG's framerate was even worse than Perfect Dark's, too.

Anyone else find the secret coop mode? Plug in a second 'Cube controller and you can both control Saki. You can either compete with each other and for which way to walk and aim, or have one person do the moving and one do the shooting. It was pretty funny when I was screwing with a friend's controller while he was playing and we realized I was messing up the game XD

Oh, and good luck fighting a planet

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Framerate?

I can't say I noticed issues in either of those games... well except when I tried playing Perfect Dark before I got the Expansion Pak.... It really looked horrid before that.

Yup, nice game (weird story though, like all Treasure games, there's definitely more meaning behind it).

Not hard at all though, don't know where you got that impression. I beat it last weekend for the first time (someone gifted me the game, never played it until now). I'm glad someone bought the game for me! =P

The game is damn short though! I unlocked everything in just one night (meaning I beat Normal and Hard). Now I can't wait to play Sin & Punishment 2.

Oh... and I thought Saki was a girl. o_O

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

@ SHMUP

First Kazooie and now Saki. *shakes head* When will your N64 gender bender shenanigans cease?!

I beat the game on Normal on my first try,the only boss that gave me trouble is the one that require you to use the knife because i didnt even know there was one...lol
