i hate FFXII with a pasion, but from what we have seen in the videos i feel pretty confident about the game, and i have no problem with frame rate drops
It will be hard for me to hate FFXIII since I have such low expectations for it. Personally I hope it surprises me and becomes the first Final Fantasy game I've bought since FFX*
*Outside of the GBA/DS remakes

I already have low expectations for the game because of Final Fantasy XII. It wasn't because combat looked like an MMORPG. Also, I liked almost all of the Final Fantasy games before it.
And the reason many people didn't like Resident Evil 5 was not in your post. While Resident Evil 4 was a serious deviation from the Resident Evil formula, it was fun and innovative and therefore was liked. Resident Evil 5 deviated even further from the Resident Evil formula and was a step back, gameplay wise, from Resident Evil 4. From what I understand, most Resident Evil fans want an actual Resident Evil game now instead of an action game with the name Resident Evil on it.
Not that the previous paragraph had anything to do with your original point.
Square Enix really did perform public sudoku when they decided to make this move.

It's nice to see a fellow expert in Nipponology around here.
The costume design in this game is fugly. Why does square always feel like they need clowns running around with guns and swords, its really hard to take the game seriously.
