Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, founders of BioWare, have refused to rule out the possibility of Mass Effect 2 coming to the PlayStation 3 at GDC. 

Ray said, "“We have announced Mass Effect 2 for PC and Xbox 360″, adding, “We have no comment beyond that.” 

The game was officially announced early this month, but did not mention PS3 as a platform. However since then the creators of the game have refused to deny rumors regarding a PS3 version of the game.  

Usually when a developer doesn't outright deny a particular platform for a game, it will be coming to that platform eventually.

Well i won't claim it will or wont. I don't really care about the game all that much. Have yet to play the first and when i get around too it i'll probably just play the pc version. Thought some might find it interesting though.. even if these guys read too much into it.

I see the issue being 'We don't want to say if there could possibly be a future iteration on another console. It could never come, it may come. If I said it was going to, and something happened that it didn't, I'd be a liar, and lose my job. If I say that it won't, and it does, we'll lose sales, and I lose my job'.

Having worked in the gaming industry for a year, I believe that's the way of it. Development stuff changes all the time. There are many times that I wish I could share with consumers 'oh hey, there's this great game I played that's coming out in October' only to find out that it gets pushed back indefinitely, or even canceled.

My opinion is that EA, once the trilogy is done, will port the entire series to PS3 in a Blu-Ray boxed set with all 3 games so it seems fresh & new to the Playstation gamer. But even if that was the case, why hype it if it doesn't come out for another 2-3 years? Much could change in that time.

Should they deny that it won't be out on the Wii, DS, & Genesis too? Why do they need to deny what consoles it won't come out for.

I would love to have this on my PS3 for some reasons.

Usually with exclusives, and timed exclusives everyone pretends the other console version doesn't exist. The PS3 version of Bioshock was denied until the bitter end. That's why it is strange that the CEO of EA would announce multiple platforms, and nobody involved with the game will come out and say it is a 360/PC exclusive.

I agree, unless it is a day and date release it will sell pretty poorly on the late arriving console.
