I agree.
I see the issue being 'We don't want to say if there could possibly be a future iteration on another console. It could never come, it may come. If I said it was going to, and something happened that it didn't, I'd be a liar, and lose my job. If I say that it won't, and it does, we'll lose sales, and I lose my job'.
Having worked in the gaming industry for a year, I believe that's the way of it. Development stuff changes all the time. There are many times that I wish I could share with consumers 'oh hey, there's this great game I played that's coming out in October' only to find out that it gets pushed back indefinitely, or even canceled.
My opinion is that EA, once the trilogy is done, will port the entire series to PS3 in a Blu-Ray boxed set with all 3 games so it seems fresh & new to the Playstation gamer. But even if that was the case, why hype it if it doesn't come out for another 2-3 years? Much could change in that time.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
