As I sit here and goof around on the internet, it came to me that we are still in a war (two of them).

They don't get much media coverage anymore, but thousands of Americans (and our allies) are put in harm's way every day. I just wanted to give a shout out to all of you, and say thanks for all that you do.

This thread can be a good place for anyone who feels like giving our troops words of encouragement, the opportunity to do so! I am sure there are a few gamers in the military that come to these boards.

Also, "Americans (and our allies) are put in harm's way" and I respect them for it.

It infuriates me that you would use a thread SUPPOSEDLY about giving kudos to brave soldiers as a Trojan horse for your hatred* of anyone who DOESN'T give them.  That is true disrespect, and you ought to be ashamed of such a tactic.

ok to be legit, regardless of my political view on the wars the united states gets into, I only hope that those guys out there come home as soon as they can and not get hurt.

How can I hate someone who doesn't post? That's the stupidest thing I have heard.

No, I made this thread for two reasons. To praise the troops (a group of people who I have been defending for the last hour), and a platform for others to do the same thing.

I thought this would be a good, positive way, to do both. A win-win so to speak. I thought all it could do is at best improve my view, and military personal who visit's view, of people on this site who from time to time give us the impression that they don't like the troops. And at worst do nothing (because if they didn't have anything nice to say, they would not post).

Never expected it to become this.. especially right off the bat.
