Oh alright, I was thinking for a second the Wii also came packaged with a classic controller or something, thanks.

You know what else? The Classic controller is compatable with every VC game...

@Demotruk
It may be unsupported, of course... this is a playground made of speculation, though I'm trying my best :)
Please note that even if you admit only 50% correlation between the first party games, that leaves out about 4.5M of copies of SMG or SSBB between the "casuals" and all the other hardcore players.
Given the userbase, that still accounts for a very minor tie ratio vs the one of Wii Sports and Wii Fit among "casuals" (1 in 5 at very best, and remember you have only 3 or 4 "slots" for each of them).
Edit: BTW, sorry if I dragged this too long, I tend to get lost in these sort of things because I do them all day long.
It'd be interesting to see the statistics. Nintendo have them with the Nintendo channel, but even that has a self-selecting element to it. Arguing with guessed/estimated statistics, I'm not keen on.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
^You'd be amazed at seeing how even big companies take vital decisions based on worse data analysis (I worked with several) :)

Serious question as I don't know and am interested, how many Wii games use motion sensing on the Wii? |

Only if you count IR as motion, many games use the IR solely, or IR + buttons.

the same thing that happened when the sixaxis came out..
.. crickets ..
Which is why you either have release a console which motion control from the start as your main controller type or you don't. You can release a motion control game or a series of them that come with a remote like this, but its not going to do for the xbox or ps3 what the wiimote supposedly does for the wii.
Sixaxis is indeed an example of this. Very few games employ the motion control of it, killzone 2 does small stuff like when you deploy a bomb charge or open a pipe valve you do the turn motion like a wheel. Just like vibration, its used in some games, but not most.
Would I be original and witty or aggravating and obnoxious if I referred to it as the fwiidom?
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
