He did indeed say he wouldn't be part of MGS4. To be honest, I don't remember him saying he wouldn't be part of MGS3, but it wouldn't surprise me. Either way, you can rest assured that his plans to retire from that series have been forgotten once again: he won't retire until he's physically incapable of it or the series stops making mad money.

He said that he won't be part of MGS4 not MGS3. Anyway now that he have confirmed that he won't be part of the next MGS I guess people can stop acting like if he would... Also the choice of making the next MGS exclusive or not doesnt have anything to do with him. Konami put the money so they will take the decision.

 Kojima wanted to end the series with MGS2 so technically he never planned a 3rd MGS...Anyway I believe he will be directing and co-writing MGS5 if there is one

seriously this will go on forever and ever until every fan boy has had his input of how it will be on 360 its so frustrating it really is , i don't give a shit about if's and buts yes xbox may have it if it had half the story line missing, shit compressed graphics, multiple discs Mgs4 and if there is a 5 will remain exclusive until Konami, kojima or his team announce otherwise, seriously its like saying halo and gears are coming to ps3 , i know that will never happen, i understand it will never happen , i understand that in order to play those games i will have to set my xbox up so get it into your heads in order the play MGS4-5 you will have to buy a playstation 3!!
