Next generation, like in 2 or 3 years? I highly doubt that... Id say at the very least, 5 years...

If a 250GB SSD cost right now $600-$700 (Via NewEgg)
and a 1.5TB HDD cost right now $130 (Via any online store)

and Hitachi has announced they will have a 5TB HDD ready in 2010...

So next generation being 2011/2012 we'll have 7TB drives...your saying SSD & HDD will have a 1:1 Price Ratio?

I highly doubt that, you could be right, who knows with technology these days, but I dont see it happening in the next few years to come...

but you must remember that the wii's succesor won't need a huge 7tb harddrive, or even anywhere close to that. i think the 6th nintendo cosnole won't be improved that much graphically from the wii, so you could get away with like a 64gb or 128 gb sd card, which while not out yet, will most likely be in a few years, and they will probably be reasonably priced as well.

ya, i'm glad for it as well.

though i don't have near as much as you. only like 17 vc games and 6 wiiware games, so i WAS having to clean out the fridge a lot, but it wasn't quiet as bad yet.

This isn't just an expanded fridge for games and channels but the opportunity for serious DLC as well.

Oh no no, you see, Wii HD isn't Nintendo next console but an "upgrade" of the Wii which is basicly the same but with HD resolution, stronger processor, maybe an HDD, you know all those thing the far far behind competition have and should be release in 2010/2011.

IOW it's the last delusion of the loser which change the common phrase "if you can beat them join them" to "if you can't beat them invent a nice fantasy world where they join you". Not as catchy I admit but it's better than admitting that nobody else care about this stuff other than 20 years old living in there parent basement right?

I personally was bummed about the memory, but now that I can finally play off my SD card, all is right again :D.

Ya, I do agree about smaller SSD's being reasonably priced/if not the same as HDD's in the future... but I was simply going off this statement:

"By next generation, SSD's will be 1:1 price ratio with magnetic HDD's."

^ Thats talking about SSD's in general, which I think isn't going to happen... but smaller size SSD's, sure I completly agree...
