Ok guys earlier this month I got a notice saying that I was to appear as a Juror March 24, 2009(tommorow) I dont want to go, so thought about ignoring it, but the notice said failure to appear could result in, fine, arrest or both, but my and neighbor said the ignored Jury Duty plenty of times with no consequence, on the other side a friend at work said its not a good idea. So has anybody here ever had Jury Duty and not went? are consequence?? and if you did go how was it??

If you don't want to go just say that you are racist against all races and that everyone who is poor must be a criminal because the papers told you. They will drop you like a brick.

I serve jury duty subpoenas, but I've never ever arrested or gave a citation to someone for not showing up.

Yes. It could happen. I personally wouldn't risk it (my ass is too firm and round. NOBODY'S raping me!). Just call your local Clerk of Courts and advise them why you can't make it. You'll be fine.

I've heard of many people doing something like this. This one guy was called for a case defending some guy who beat another guy up, and he was a wrestling coach. When they found that out, they said thanks, but we don't want you here... in a nicer way, of course. =)

They try to find people who won't have a bias, so if you say something that shows a bias, they'll get rid of you.

It's still good to go however, since if everyone did that, we'd never get anywhere in the courts.
