Difficulty has not been toned down. The reason you had a hard time playing those past games was because gaming was still new to you. It used to take me weeks to pass Streets of Rage on the hardest difficulty. Now I go back and play it and I could pass it in like 2 hours on the hardest difficulty. You just know what to expect from a game after playing so long.

Your credibility was lost when you said the Genesis was during the N64/PS1 era.

I sort of agree with you (in the sense that the sharp division is to the detriment of this generation, though it doesn't make it the worst), but the question is, why? Between the 3 of them, we have the most diverse generation in a long time. Why shouldn't we be elated that we're getting this kind of variety?

I don't think so, this gen had Galaxy, that's one of the best Mario games ever!

This gen is about four years old and it's still just warming up. Most other generations would be in the final stretch, right now.

This is the 3rd best generation IMO. The only thing that stops it from being 2nd is how expensive stuff is.

I can barely read what you have written, but games this gen are all so much better than the last. Gaming in HD is just great, and the gameplay is certainly as good, and in nearly every case better

In 2011, this gen gives gamers asshole cancer. Worst. Gen. Ever.

I don't know how it it fares against the NES, Atari, or Odyssey ones. But against the SNES, PS1 and PS2 generation, I'd say it comes last.
