I'm basing my info on the IGN release dates as they stand from yesturday, 9/3. Things can change; I know. My differentiation between genres may not suit your style perfectly; so fine. I will not be including Playstation 2 because it's last gen, so too bad. Do the work yourself if it's that critical.
Now that all of that is out of the way, here's the point. It's hard to say which system is always the best, because sales do not necessarily entail quality, and gems can pop up on even the most awful of consoles. I'm gonna go genre by genre and show the fall lineup. You guys then discuss who rules in that area. If the release dates get updated by new games added or pushed into next fall, we can reconvene and decide again what that means for each console. I have taken a few liberties by not adding any games specifically for children, such as Spongebob and Ben 10, and will not include any games that have to do with hunting because I figure no one wants to argue over that anyways. If I'm offending any hunting game fans, too bad. Spend your money more wisely in the future. So without further ado...

Forgive me for this, but I had nowhere else to put 2D style arcade shooters, so I'm bunching them up with a complete opposite, like FPS games. If you're a fan of retro shooters Wii is where it's at. Blast Works looks interesting and hopefully plays well. Geometry Wars will be awesome, but it's also on 360 and will be cheaper to play on 360 too. With light gun games, it's either PS3 or Wii. In my honest opinion, Ghost Squad and RE:UC do not compare to Time Crisis 4 with the new Guncon. Song trumps Nintendo on that one. The Wii remote will be slow compared to the accuracy of the guncon, so control swings back in favor of Time Crisis.
With FPS games, Wii is not considerable in this argument. Their lineup is trash. Most of the FPS games coming out on 360 and PS3 are multiplatform so they're a wash. The exclusives for PS3 are Haze and Unreal Tournament III(at least until next year ). 360 has Halo 3 and America's Army:True Soldiers. So it's basically Halo 3 vs. Haze. I absolutely love the new ideas being put into Haze, but come on. It's an unproven franchise up against Halo 3. I personally would rather try out Haze, so i'll give it to Sony, but I can fully see the review scores and Halo 3 will almost undoubtedly be the better game.
