Yeah looking at that gamepay footage... I never saw an N64 game look that well. Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 didn't.

Those two games were not even close to the best looking games on the system.

You might have missed World Driver Championship, Perfect Dark, Resident Evil 2 (since you posted a pre-rendered background game and this one in game looks better than the PS version), NFL Quaterback Club series, Jet Force Gemini, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Rogue Squadron/Battle for Naboo, etc...

SNES...not even with one of the greatest games ever made (Xenogears) could PS1 beat SNES.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

turok 2, indiana jones, donkey kong 64...

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

People seriously believe PS1 had better graphics than N64? That's insanity.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

I forgot about World Driver Chamionship. That was such a beautiful game.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

One trick used by FFVIII, FFVII and the Resident Evil series is a picture background with a fixed camera angle.

Did Square do that first?

Well, technically the first game to do that would be PONG and ATARI games

I was just pointing out that even though FFVIII looked nice, it is because they had a static camera angle through most of the game.  Games like OOT and Mario 64 had movable camera angle, so comparing them visually is apples and oranges.

Pong and atari games had isometric perspective RPGs?

PS1 ftw. Even the PS2 doesnt match upto the PS1

Alone in the Dark did it first in the manner you're referring to.
