Forums - Sales - :( Valkyria Chronicles not even 100k on US

Time to make a 360 extend editon, Wii dynasty warriors version, NDS card battle game, PSP SRPG and iPhone flash game.

I will buy them all.

I dont think 500k will make the game profitable enough for a sequel. Honestly If there is one I can only see it being multiplat because if it was I think it would most likely be there already.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

This is just coming off House of The Dead selling 45k in NA in February alone from NPD,with people quick to call it a flop (won't say any names)

But when Valkyria Chronicles only sells 74k after a much longer period of time, oh, but the legs!....

You gotta love damage control.

no sequel in the works?
Is that why they are releasing new content?

Well I mean... it's a battle about a war... so...

Any sequel would be in the vein of Fire Emblem where it's set either before or after the war...

and unlike most games today this game was good and actually made it's ending conclusive and self contained rather then the BS "Hey lets leave room open for a sequel even though this is a new IP... in fact lets not give a clear ending."

So if they did make a sequel it would take the storyline creators time to think up things...

What would it be about?

Set in the future with futuristic weapons? Set in other parts of this world? If so where? And what are they doing? Revolution in one country? Set it in the past? Use our weapons for Melee too? Or maybe that great war?

Gotta keep the dev team working during it. Doubt it will get a sequel though which is sad.

While I doubt that a sequal is in the making due to the game's lack of commercial success, Valkyria Chronicle's game world has HUGE scope for sequals simply due to the fact that what we've witness is a very minor confrontation in a ongoing struggle between 2 much much bigger super power. The antagonist of VC was merely a prince, the Empire is far from crippled and the Federation is definitely not the 'good guys' if their action in the game is anything to go by.

The possibility for a starting point in the next game could be endless. Empire, Federation or even the mysterious Valkryie, there are so many avenue that could be explored in VC's game universe.

But there in lies the problem.

The Federation aren't the good guys.

Unlike say Ogre battle where you can place each sequel in a new outside territory gearing up for your empire to be stronger then the evil one...

This doesn't happen in VC because both sides are evil dicks... so you basically end up with a scenario that's identical to the first game.

Nuetral country gets attacked. This time by the federation to change it up probably... and we're back to square one basically.

If there was a sequel there is a lot that would have to be discussed on how the game would progress what the next story would be.... etc.

So why not keep the team busy till then.

Just who are the good guys anyways? The guys that you sympathies with? Considering that half of the command staff of the Gallian army were dicks that would have happily sold their own country for personal gain why would Empire / Federation be any different? If one man (albeit a very powerful man) within the Empire / Federation is classed as 'evil' does that mean the entire population of the said superpower are also evil? We've seen ingame scenario that prove otherwise, everything from honourable man like Jaegar to the troop command that let Welkin at Alicia go.

The game is essentially a fantasy recreation of the European Gobal conflict, a small battlefront like Gallia could very easily be integrated into an epic stroyline that spans continental Europe, Heroes arise due to circumstances as well as personal courage, a war such as the one being portrayed in VC gives plenty of circumstances for a man or woman to rise to the occasion.

It isn't that overtracked, if at all. Those NPD numbers are for US only, VGChartz tracks Canada and Mexico to for Americas. So it's at 85k + 10% = 94k. It might be overtracked by 5k-10k but that's hardly noteworthy.

You are assuming that it actually did reach 85k (in US) now, which for some reason I doubt it.

What do you think it's at now, then? It can't be at much less than 85k. Definitely not under 80k. That means it might be overtracked by 12k or something. Wow.

Overtracking by small number, and with Canada and Mexico it should make it up, but for somereason I don't see it at 10k in Febuary.

and what about the 2 weeks of march?

If this game was on 360 id buy it,Its fun!

http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/4386.html they're trying on the sales front. Already getting a budget re-release in Japan.

Already?  Games been out for a year in Japan already.  The Japanese are much more quick to add games to 'The Best' line ups then we are(probably because they cost so much more...).

Its DONE VERY WELL for an SRPG

Its outsold TOV worlwide

Vesperia hasn't been released in Europe yet. Just saying. Not to dispute that Valkyria sold ok, not very well. Fire Emblem sold very well.
