Forums - Sales - Nintendo Sells the Most Software

^^So we've gone the "rationalize why the Wii's software numbers aren't superior to the other consoles because..." I guess I'm the only one who finds it incredible that Wii not only caught up to 360 despite the yr headstart but it has actually surpassed it.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

This thread is crap. I will pass my honest judgment on what I think of it. Many Wii haters making meaningless points.

IF you excluded Wii Sports, you'll have to exclude Kung Fu Panda, LEGO Indiana Jones, SEGA Superstar Tennis, Tales of Versperia, and Halo Wars from the list. Bundling... isn't it powerful?

My point was... use ONE method for counting game sales for ALL platforms, doesn't matter which one you choose. Just one for all, no excuses. Otherwise that's bias.

//X360 bundles: Halo 3, The Simpsons Game, Resident Evil 5, Forza Motorsport 2, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Viva Pinata, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, Kung Fu Panda, Sega Superstars Tennis.

The difference is this:

Outside of Japan, you have to buy WiiSports to buy a Wii, and the title is not available on its own.

If you wanted to buy the 360 without Halo3, you could, so it is fair to assume most if not all bundled Halo3 sales were to people who wanted and would have bought Halo 3 as a stand alone game. Kung Fu Panda, not so much. There is simply going to be a lot of guess work in figuring out how many Lego Indy sales were stand alone,  and how many bundled. Moreover, as your list indicates, this isn't being done with one title or three, but many.

Conversely, I'd include WiiFit, as for a long time that was the only game that actually used the controller. There is no more reason to ignore WiiFit than there is Mario Kart or Link's Crossbow Training.

So present all the easy data with whatever context you want, and the reader can make their own conculsions as to which is the most accurate measure (which is essentially what he did, and what you are doing now).

Actually, you can also exclude games like Halo, Forza, ... which were all bundled with XB360 in Europe.
And Wii Play is not bundled with the console, so it counts. Just like Guitar Hero counts.
It's very clear that this thread is full of nonsensical Wii haters shedding rivers of bitter tears, LOL!

Ok, that's my point:

· Xbox360 has also been bundled with tons of games, so make the same operation with 360 software.

· WiiPlay is a game that comes with a remote, but it is still a game so you do not have to suprime it.

· Wiifit does count, so the same than before, do not suprime it.

· One more thing, Wii Sports is not bundled in Japan.

"Suprime"?

I don't think that means what you think it means.

Even with the game not being bundled in Japan Wii Sports and Wii Play count for about 60 million software sales. I'm pretty positive the number for bundled 360 software is a much smaller number.

I'm only impressed by the sales itself. The console and games are garbage in comparison. Its like being impressed that Hannah Montana is the number one show and High School the Musical sold a lot of tickets. Its for the same young market.

So we've gone from "Wii ____ doesn't count" to "It should have sold more than that" and end on "Wii is garbage."

It's nice to see such frequent goalpost moving accompanied with honesty. At least we don't have to guess why people insist on moving goalposts anymore.
