I think Halo 3 will pass PS3 both wordwide and in America soon after launch.
Then it will stay ahead for a few months wordwide and close to a year in America.

I have a hard time believing that Halo will ever pass PS3 WW sales... Halo might come close during October but ultimately, PS3 sales will be strong during the holiday season while Halo sales are limited to two markets (US & UK).

It's possible, since the PS3 will be beating Halo 2 LTD sales around next summer, but I don't think the 360 has enough of a user base to sell that many copies of the game yet. Halo 3 will probably sell around ten million eventually, but not before even the PS3 has sold more than that.

I don't understand why you guys think its so unlikely that Halo 3 will beat PS3. Halo 2 has sold over 6.5 million. Most of which was in first few months of release. PS3 stands at 4.32. But I do think you are all correct in guessing that it would have to do it by december. PS3's will be flying off the shelf at that time, as well as Halo 3. But with a 2 month period. It is definatley possible.

US H3 vs. US PS3 sales? September 25th at around 1:00am, if not sooner.

Worldwide H3 vs. Worldwide PS3 sales? Probably about 4 weeks after launch, or around October 17th. It won't keep that lead for long, but it'll be there.

Also, just an FYI.....Halo2 sold 6.5m in the US alone. It sold around another 2m from Europe and Japan.
