The bad thing is that we dont have any concrete dates for any of the Wii games in Japan, making difficult to predict if a game will help or not the Wii this year, because wedont know if it's getting released this year or next.
BTW Tombi, those games you named arent big with the exception of Gundam and PES 2010. You forgot about Tekken 6 though, it's coming out this year. DW5 Empires will be fairly big too. The rest will be small, niche and insignificant.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
Yes, but it would depend on a few things:
One of those things is the PSP which has even been beating DS(i) the last couple of weeks. One of the big exclusives coming to Wii is Monster Hunter G. Isn't this game also no longer an exclusive on Wii but going to be on PSP as well?
If the PS3 gets games like FFXIII and GT5 in Japan this year while the PSP gets a lot of versions of games that were originally supposed to be third-party Wii exclusives (like the 360 getting FFXIII in the West) as well, and Nintendo just has to get by on their own series (With no Zelda or Mario this year), then it is possible the PS3 could outsell Wii in Japan this year.

Tekken 6!!! How could I forget?
That list was just to counter Soriku's list. I know most aren't going to push PS3 sales up at all.

I know that I saw an article here in the last few months that said Monster Hunter no longer Wii exclusive but will also be on PSP.

actually yes Capcom said they were lookin at more platforms for MH tri, and dont cout MH wii as a 100% exclusive
No. Wii has a steady diet of modest to big hits. PS3 has long droughts followed by brief periods of huge hits.
The reason Wii hasn't dipped to sub 18k levels is because stuff like the Wii-makes, and small third party stuff is available every week, while PS3 depends on big new hits. When Wii has actual big games released it will perk back up to 30k-50k

I actually think PSP and Wii are more in competition with each other than the Wii is with the PS3 and one has the advantage of the new control scheme and the other of portability. The PSP usually outsells the Wii in Japan and quite often it is the most popular console in Japan. If Monster Hunter 3 also winds up on PSP that will take away from some of its sales on Wii. Then you have the question of whether these new rpgs announced for Wii or new games that PSP will get will be more popular. I don't think the Japanese are as crazy about the Wii series games as the folks are in some of the other regions. If they were, then I don't think the Wii would have dropped as low as it has in Japan recently.
So, I still think depending on how the matchup between Wii and PSP goes, then the PS3 might have an outside shot.

No, the article was that a new MH PSP would be announced - could be anything. Actually, some Chinese mag said that but then Capcom soon after said they had no plans to bring it to any platforms ATM. |
Monster Hunter G isn't Wii exclusive, it released for PS2 over 4 years ago :p
