Japanese Gamers' Satisfaction Levels of Recent Releases and Consoles Reported by Famitsu

In the latest issues of Famitsu, they reported survey

results of gamers' satisfaction levels on recent releases and consoles. There were five possible responses to each game/console: very satisfied, satisfied, indifferent, unsatisfied and very unsatisfied. Each game and console is then assigned a satisfaction score out of 5 accordingly.

Here are the results (arranged in descending order in terms of satisfaction score):

Games:

Demon's Souls (PS3): 4.7/5, Very Satisfied: 82.4%
Yakuza 3 (PS3): 4.6/5, Very Satisfied: 66.6%
Street Fighter IV (PS3,360): 4.2/5, Very Satisfied: 41.4%
Star Ocean IV (360): 4.0/5, Very Satisfied: 37.6%

Consoles

360: 4.2/5, Very Satisfied: 23.8%
PSP: 3.8/5, Very Satisfied: 17.1%
PS3: 3.6/5, Very Satisfied: 16.6%
NDS: 3.4/5, Very Satisfied: 19.1%
Wii: 3.2/5, Very Satisfied: 8.2%

those japan people are liking it....no wonder its showing legs like NO OTHER PS3 game has ever before!

Goodness me people are satisfied with the 360 and a From Software game? Goodness me my homeland has crumbled even since I left. :(

but one thing is there

Demon's Souls is showing the kind of legs in Japan that PS3 games never do

5K + since so many weeks after release is rare for a not big hyped PS3 release.....also it isn't bundled.

so there is probably some kind of word of mouth going for the game!

Not surprised to see the Wii last.

Does anyone know if the FF Advent Children + FFXIII demo will be tracked by Famitsu or Media Create? That one looks to be a monster, anyone under the impression that FFXIII will do less then 2 million in Japan will have a serious mind fuck.

FFXIII will be HUGE, Versus will also do at least 1 million first week in Japan but will not be as big as FFXIII though. Still though million first week in one region for Versus, NA and EU will easily push it past 2 million first week. :O

Wow, Famitsu readers hate them some Wii and love them some Demon's Souls. Hopefully the latter will get released over here.

Famitsu = hardcore mag
360 owners = most hardcore userbase in Japan
360 satisfaction = highest

Makes perfect sense to me.

@RPG: First of all, the 360 brings the Japanese a great selection of games for their tastes, and second, Demon's Souls, like most From Software games, is awesome. Do not rag on either. I don't even understand why you call yourself "RPG".

errr because I enjoy good RPG games such as KH, DQ, FF, Oblivion etc? From Software make the equivalent of turds on a disc, people enjoying the trash made by them simply shown very low standards or simply terrible taste.

@ Darth finish your A-Levels first then I will think about it, studies more important!
