This project is really quite sad. They fixed a lot of Melee's problems in Brawl but it seems some people are still stuck in the past and wanting them back.

First, it's not what the project is about, it's about bringing competition back to Brawl.

Meh, I think the characters in Brawl are way more balanced than in Melee.
In Melee, everyone in tournaments and such always ended up using either Fox or Sheik.

That was the funniest one.. Fox or Shiek? You forgot Marth and others.

Everyone uses MK in Brawl btw.. or Snake.

Obviously, you didn't read the whole thread. I expected better from you.

Now, excuse me while I'm actually having fun playing Brawl. In the meantime, I guess you can continue abusing Pikachu's D-Smash and win (with pride?). =P

Like I said before I don't have anything againt Brawl+, I'm even curious about the project but please stop making assumptions about regular Brawl. Pikachu's Down-Smash is very easy to DI out of and if you space yourself correctly you won't get hit to being with.

Hehe, you don't have to take it too personally, in fact, don't. I know WoW posted this on purpose. I was just referring to a match me and him did a few months ago. ;)

It's just fun to notice that he didn't take into account that Brawl+ is not trying to be Melee 2.0. The project is the best of both worlds, meaning you can have the fun with the items like in the old games, plus it fixes this "thing" the developers apparently missed.

It's not my fault you can't figure out how to avoid a simple fair->dsmash after an entire match of practice.

As for being Melee 2.0, don't put words in my mouth.  You should know better than to do that.  Brawl+ speeds up the game and makes it easier to chain attacks.  I dislike most traditional fighting games because it's very easy to memorize enough patterns to rip off anywhere from 40-80% of your HP in a single string.  All Brawl+ is doing is creating the equivalent patterns that will result in easier KOs.

Brawl is slower the time from start to KO is far far longer than Melee.  These "improvements" drastically reduce that time by creating more stringables.  I don't really like that.

@Solid : Marth wasn't on the level of Fox/Shiek in the Melee (except maybe in terms of deceiving grab range).  It's just that Ken was skilled enough to make him look good... really good.  Marth wouldn't have been nearly so popular without Ken.

pika's down smash is really easy to get out of....just toggle the c-stick and control stick....you pop right out everytime

I see. It's just not your style, I'm okay with that. Just don't say it's a sad project, and I won't say Brawl is "that" bad! Fair enough? ^^

About Melee 2.0, you did say that "problems" from Melee are now, somewhat, coming back in Brawl+. I thought that was a clear indication that you didn't read all the OP or something because the thing is, not all of them are back. Wavedashing is not coming back. I believe this was the only big "problem" in Melee, and still, it was not that useful if you want my opinion. L-cancelling, though, like a bunch of people here already said, was already a technique used since the N64 version (it was called Z-Cancel at the time). I believe they even explained how to do it in the instruction booklet! If not, I remember reading about it somewhere not on the Internet, so I don't think I found a cheat or anything if it was so easy to figure out! I mean, if the original developers who did the N64 version kept it when they did Melee, well, they probably had a reason to keep it. The programmers knew what they were doing when they put it in both games. With that said, I wonder if the guys at SmashBoards will think about putting crouch cancelling back. I mean, it was in the first SSB game as well.

Oh... and people are still trying to find ways to tell me I suck ass at Brawl. I love you guys too! :(

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

though i should also mention that some aspects of brawl+ are unbalanced; for example the ability to combo through just Dair.

Just thought that I would say QFT.

The game is great as it is.  Brawl+ is an unnessecary mod that only brings unbalance to the masterful balance that is already present in Brawl.

If you miss Melee so much, just play Melee.

Oh man, I was waiting for someone to tell me that!

What if I tell you that I want to listen to the amazing soundtrack while battling out with my friends in epicly epic matches? What if I tell you that I want to play with new characters like King D. Dede, Captain Olimar and Zero Suit Samus? What if I tell you that I want to save replays of matches that are worth saving? What if I tell you that I want the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS?

Seriously, I think I've explained myself enough here. Stop targetting me as the fricking villain here people, go blame the people at SmashBoards for creating such a great mod that inspired me to create this thread! o_O
