NCAA 09 was hoorible, i agree with the idea of rethinking their approach on the game.

this dose not come a s a surprise but it might mean the loss of madden is only a year or two of percived under performance away on the wii.

to help put it in perspective watchers of sports in the states goes 1 NFL 2 NCAAFOOTBALL then the rest of the sports.

to those who doubt the sales of games like NCAA you just need to live near a major division one college.. I live in knoxville TN and its insane UT gets more fans then the titans (our states nfl team) the stadium here seats over 112,000 and during home games the city grows insanely what does this have to do with the game, launch night for NCAA here is bigger then launch night for madden, players from the university will show up at game haves and sit and play as "guests" or on good will ops. this is the same at most major university towns/cities with a team in a major conferences ...

personally i like the nfl better, but i know more then enough people who buy every year NCAA all across the country

also I cant wait to move... I am tired of having to put up with the sea of orange in the fall you cant go anywhere on game days

Good news, that game was crap on the Wii and now EA can use their resources for better games.

care to explain yourself? EA has made shitty ports hoping to make a mint, the havent they view it as a bussiness failure. there is presidence for this. the non support of the dreamcast after the saturn debacle. the poor sales of madden on the cube and now the wii could kill the franchise.  I think it has to show a jump in sales the next two years to at least come to equla sales of HD versions. if that does not happen kiss it good by

LOL, Madden on the Wii does just fine, and rakes in a healthy profit for EA.

They did say they were going to scale back in order to focus on quality, so there's that.

I never claimed it didnt make a profit I said it didnt meet expectations, Im betting NCAA football made profit, but did not meet expectations either....

I was unaware of a relevency clause in the contract and if that is true I retract my statment about it being in jepoardy. however the fact remains madden on the wii under performes in terms of units sold vs the other platforms, especially in units sold per console deployed. that needs to change and change fast.

I will agree its EAs problem until they release a quality madden game for the system. even with diffrent FX there s no reason the AI has to be as bad as it was... when i played the last version it was about like playing a game in 02....  it was bad even by madden standards ....

Wasn't this predicted when EA talked about not coming out with some of its traditional sports offerings this year for the Wii but instead making everything count.

NCAA on the Wii was not a medicore game at best. And it did not sell. So not publishing it would not be a big deal. I would rather those resources be put into something that I would play.
