I'm not disagreeing that one or all of these things might happen, I just don't expect them to happen at GDC, but rather at E3.  Except for maybe 2; Itagaki has been SUPER quiet for too long.

My company is having a booth there. Really good stuff going on.

They will be debuting Starsiege: Tribes as an in-browser game. They have a lot of great stuff going on with their in-browser technology, so that's going to be neat.

They may have a few hidden announcements under their sleeves

He's been drunk the whole time.

GDC is a very business-like affair. I wouldn't expect bombshells here (ok, GDC, surprise me).

well, if you'll remember, it was at gdc 05 that spore was announced (yes, i know some of you are pissed that it was over hyped and only turned out being an ok game, but still :b)

Not expecting much. But I would love to hear something about a new Zelda for the Wii (Or DS). I think E3 is the place to be this year in gaming. Back up to 40,000+ people attending so far.

As someone who has attended several past GDC events, I will tell you that GDC has become bigger than E3. You should expect more from GDC than E3, especially from Nintendo, its become their new favorite place to make announcements.

Are there any official big 3 keynotes for announcements? I noticed someone from Microsoft Game Studios is on the featured speaker list, but will that be an announcements session?

Anyway, Bioware are going to be there, so there will almost certainly be something about Mass Effect 2. M$ will announce a new game, like they did with Gears, and I am not sure about Sony or Nintendo
