The exceptions to this Nintendo rule are the two consoles which weren't marketleading, even though they had superior tech..guess what? This gen won't be any different. |
Um, N64 was not a better console specs wise then the PS1.
Also no the NES was not supported for 20 years. And no the SNES was not supported for 14.

In the wake of ever decreasing sales and the lack of new software titles, Nintendo of America officially discontinued the NES by 1995. Despite this, Nintendo of Japan kept producing new Nintendo Famicom units up until September 2003,[16] when it discontinued the line.
Nintendo of Japan continued to repair Famicom consoles until October 31, 2007, attributing the decision to discontinue support to an increasing shortage of the necessary parts.

Nintendo of America ceased production of the SNES in 1999,[35] about two years after releasing Kirby's Dream Land 3 (its last first-party game for the system) on November 27, 1997. In Japan, Nintendo continued production of the Super Famicom until September 2003,[36] and new games were produced until the year 2000
In 2007, Nintendo announced that it would no longer repair Famicom or Super Famicom systems due to an increasing shortage of the necessary parts.
