Forums - Nintendo - Madworld not selling confirmed

@BTFeather: You don't even own a Wii, so you better stop trolling. How does this affect you anyways?

And tell me, which one of the oh so mature games for the HD consoles has sold more than Brawl or SMG? NONE besides Halo. What's your point? MGS sold less than half of what SMG sold, yet you praise its sales? You are a ridiculous person.

I'm buying a Wii next week after I receive the money from selling my PS3 on ebay.  It affects me because I'm hoping to see more games like Madworld, Kizuna, and Muramasa on the system instead of more games like Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports and Carnival Games.

Having an opinion on a subject and answering questions about your opinions when someone asks you a question doesn't mean someone is trolling.  I have noticed a lot of times though that when someone has an opinion that goes against the majority and they're defending their views well, then a lot of people in the majority like to pull out comments like "Oh, you're trolling."

Both Halo 3 and GTA's combined sales on both PS3 and 360 are higher than Brawl and Galaxy.  Also, Call of Duty 4 on 360 isn't far off in sales from Galaxy.  COD4 has only sold 800,000 units less and does suffer a bit from the sports and shooter game phenomenon of the next year's versions sales taking away from the previous year's versions sales since World at War came out.  If you combine the sales for COD4 on both 360 and PS3, then like GTA it has also probably sold more than Brawl and Galaxy.

I didn't know I had been praising MGS' sales.  What I said was that none of these games No More Hero, Madworld, most of the third person shooters hadn't sold as well on Wii as on 360 / PS3.  Certainly games like Okami, Resident Evil 4, Madworld, and No More Heroes have failed to sell as well as games like Gears and Uncharted.  This is despite the fact that the Wii has a much larger install base which seems to be primarily interested in games like Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Mario Kart Wii despite the fact that none of them rank in the top 10 games on the console in terms of critical appraisal.

There's no point talking to you anymore. You manke absolutely no sense. You have no grasp of reality when it comes to differentating games that were massively hyped, with huge budgets and form know franchises. Halo 3, GTA4, are sequels to the best selling games last gen, CoD is an extremely popular franchise. You are naming the biggest games, the most hyped and advertised ones. No More Heros, Madworld are small franchises from niche devs. None of the previous games Clover or Suda made were BIG. SO STOP TROLLING.

We know you hate the Wii, we know you can't come up with a reasonable arguement, because all you do is repeat yourself endless times in every post you make. No third party has given the Wii a huge exclusive yet, all it get is maximum a gimped down multplat game. But yet, the multiplat HD/Wii games sold great on the Wii, almost always on par, save for CoD, mainly because Wii didn't see CoD4, therefore majority of people are buying them for the HD's since that's where they bought CoD4. You need to stop trolling seriously.

I am naming Uncharted, surely Uncharted wasn't the most hyped game of all time.  I would say Madworld was hyped just as much.  Sites like IGN and magazines like Play haven't been able to quit talking about it since Platinum games announced it, yet it is failing to be a huge seller like many other games including Zack and Wiki and No More Heroes were.  I'm not saying its the Wii or Nintendo's fault that the game(s) haven't sold.  I am saying it is the majority of the system's owner's faults.

No it's not. Uncharted is a 1st party game that gets constantly advertised, got bundled, gets always named at PR statements and got a LOT more hype than Madworld around the web. Being a 1st party title almost always guarantees it's a huge seller.

Give me another example, you can't cause all the big HD sellers are huge projects. Wii hasn't seen one yet. It will see MH3 soon. At least Zelda, SMG, Brawl, Mario Kart, Metroid Prime sold really well. Even Red Steel being a new franchise sold more than a million and it's a FPS. Ubisoft and Nintendo hyped Red steel a lot.
The problem with the Wii is that it's getting ignored by most Western devs and what it actualy gets are multiplat games or spin-offs.

I've yet to see a huge AAA hyped game sell bad on the Wii. No, Madworld was too niche, snce it comes from a niche dev.
Give the Wii a GTA, a proper Resident Evil, a MGS game, a big fighter, a big racing game and it'll sell. IMO the problem is that many Wii owners already own an HD console, and seeing that 3rd parties are never gonna give the Wii a huge game, they won't bother anymore. All the big franchises are going to the HD consoles, so all the huge sales are there. Wii is getting innovative new games, but not the typical huge thing. They sell well, but they will never sell like a MEGA project sells on the HD's.

Wii will not get any big games this gen, save for the Nintendo ones, so you better not buy a Wii if this concerns you that much.

But if more Wii owners bought games like No More Heroes, Madworld, The Conduit, Okami, and Zack and Wiki and these other games that are better than The Big 4 on the Wii in sufficient numbers (maybe just a couple of million each but really I don't see why they shouldn't sell as well as Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games), then developers would have no choice but to bring these big exclusive types of third-party games to the Wii like the PS2 had.  Without them the the Wii library will never match up to the PS2's.

Weren't you banned for being a sore-loser when your predictions failed?

Wow, I didn't know Madworld was made by Nintendo. Thanks for keeping up to date sport.

^Well, this "big name game" argument is prone to double standards. The problem is that games like Halo have only been recently got their third iteration with a spin off. Games like Gears, Mass Effect, Resistance etc. don't have that many iterations, so should be considered to be comparable in "big-ness" to innovative "hardcore" titles for the Wii like Madworld.

If you only count series that have three or more titles on consoles (MGS4, GTA4, Halo 3, FF13 etc.) as big established names (e.g. Gears 2, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Mass Effect 2 etc), the Wii's competitors don't have as great as an advantage in that department.

@kylohk: Yet none of these core games for the Wii has been advertised, nor made by a dev who is known to have produced a big hit. Also, BTF calling Zack and Wiki core while disregarding Mario Kart is quite dumb.
