Forums - Nintendo - Madworld vs. Conduit in terms of sales

So now that we have seen Madworld debut in the americas at 57k, what are your thoughts on the Conduit.  Personally, i figured Madworld would do anywhere from 60k to 100k opening week.  But, when it comes to the conduit, I'm thinking of about 250k opening week in the Americas Alone.  Thoughts?  Agree/disagree.  250k is a ball park figure 10 +/- margin.  Definately a million seller before years end.

Sounds about right to me. I'd put the Conduit between 200-250k first week.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

If Conduit does poorly, the Wii can kiss "hardcore" gaming goodbye, I think.

Madworld better have been dirt cheap to make, or have some serious legs.

I think is obvious that The Conduit is going to sell more than Madworld, The Conduit is a FPS and I predict 300-350k first week WW.

I say Conduit gets 150k WW first week
Madworld will do just fine and I hope people don't think it's a bomb already. Do they not learn that wii games take time to sell?

I kinda think Madworld isn't the same kind of off-handed casual purchase that most Wii games are.  I highly suspect it won't have the typical Wii legs, given that its not the typical Wii game.

Conduit is a big Wii exclusive FPS's on Wii system, IF the game turns out to be good then it will sell well without a doubt.

The Conduit is the most hyped wii release since Smash bros. so yeah, id see it doing maybe 200K, give or take 50k.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

I've been a bit depressed since finding the MadWorld numbers, though i should have predicted them. 100-150k for first week for The Conduit

When it comes to The Conduit, I expect 135k first week, with legs to carry it past 1.25 million in the long run (if it is good). Just because there is internet hype, doesn't mean there will be sales. It is up to Sega to advertise it to the simlar extent of Madworld.
