Forums - Gaming - Will I like Resident Evil 5 if I have no friends?

@BHR - I think that Uncharted will have coop. They announced that there is a new woman sidekick "that is Drake's equal". That sounds like a coop partner to me. The problem for games like Resident Evil 5, Uncharted, and Bioshock is it would be difficult for them to have true online versus modes because it doesn't fit the story. Unfortunately, the only online modes they can offer is coop.

@Phoenix - lol congrats on the friends.

i hope its like uncharted 1 were its just some of the game like 20% and that u cant interact with her i like how they used it in the 1st one it was just limited and u didnt really have to worry bout elena getting in the way and ammo or her life

^Thanks Kylie. I do remember from the demo that you could control her a little. She did get me killed a couple of times by getting in the way with the chainsaw guy. I wish they would give you the option of whether you want a partner at all.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

yeah i hate all this co-op and online gaming ruining games this gen i hope re6 wont have an ai partner uncharted2 looks to be just drake i never play online or co-op

they should only add the extra partner wen playing online or with a friend the single player should be designed for single player

if ur a re fan though u should check the game out its good partner or not

Looks to me like Uncharted 2 will have co-op.

On topic;  Shevas AI is pretty good, she is a good shot so even though she goes through ammo a lot her hits are a benefit more than a waste.  She doesn't waste heal item despite what people claim.  I give her all my heal items when I play, keeping only 1 for myself.

You want to limit her to one weak weapon (pistol) and one stronger weapon only though.  Then just micro manage her by setting her to either cover or attack mode to decide what you want her to use.

She is pretty smart, if you have a shotgun and she doesn't, and she picks up shotgun ammo she will just give to you without needing to ask.

how are you so sure wiki has it as a single player game and all the screen shoots only show drake around im sure the female character will be in the story and helping you but will u be able to do online co-op or splitscreen with her and will she be following you at the hip like re5? i hope not

oh yea shevas good with the healing i give her all my healing items if im low on health she hooks me up fast i never died not carrying ammo

on the demo for ps3 its O + up and down on the directional pad at least in the full game it isto make her either cover you or attack mode

i just let her have only the MP5 machine gun i got the guide for the game and it says that is the best weapon for sheva wen playing offline there right 2 i just tried it she only uses it in short burst plus the other guns and even pistol have a critical attribute which means u can get head shots one shot one kill the mp5 doesnt have it it has a penetration attribute and sheva focuses more on body shots then head

I love co-op but only when it is with another human. That being said RE5 is playable and fun alone, though you will enjoy it more with a buddy no doubt.

You'll probably like it, although it is a lot more fun with someone else. Just don't play split-screen.

Sheva was fine for me. Hell, she saved my life a ton of times and took on a couple bosses almost single handedly. She used up a lot of herbs when I wouldn't have, but there was always more when we needed them. As for her getting killed, I turned off the friendly fire. I haven't played with another human yet, and I love the game. Your results may differ.

The co-op aspect is the reason I never played Army of Two. I may buy that game soon.......

my experience with sheva was a bad one shes super retarted uses all bullet and herbs gets kill by the chainsaw guy alot doesn't come to me when she clearly can she doesn't pick up money that much... the enemies are more of an ally then her

She picked up WAAAYY too many handgun bullets, though. I tossed away an arsenal!

lol, RE5 is meant to be a a single player game, not an MP game.

re5 was designed to be played with another person, either local or online. that isn't debateable. while it can be played with the ai, something tells me you'd get a much better experience playing with another person.
