Yes and consider its Ps3s biggest exclusive i expect it to sell atleast 8 million.

i have a friend that is waiting for GT5 to buy a ps3... so it could be a system seller...

I already know quite a few people that will be buying a PS3 when the game comes out.

There will be a bundle for the UK no doubt, maybe even NA.



  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

UK 360 sales are 1.5:1 lifetime and currently nesarly 2:1 weekly.  US and UK is 360 and mainland Europe is split.

The bolded part is laughable...  its been discussed on a forum and we have decide it will sell 9-10 million... decided based on what??? lol... This gen isnt last gen... the PS3 isnt the PS2..  please.. listen to yourself.

Possibly because the 360 has been out for 16 months longer in the UK than the PS3? Nice work, hotshot.

And I never said anything about decisions. I'll thank you not to put words in my mouth. I merely said that it had been posited as a reasonable hypothesis.

you don't even need to go back 2 years. i think if it was release last year before the xbox price drop there would have been crazy sales.

as it is now, i don't think it will have the impact that it could have had. i think 6-7 million is a good estimate.

You can't compare Killzone 2 to Gran Turismo. Sure Killzone 2 had alot of hype to it but I'm sure everyone would agree that even God of War, Final Fantasy, and Gran Turismo will be all hyped way more then Killzone 2. And Killzone 2 is a different genre (shooter vs racer). It's like comparing Fable to Halo, there both great games and sell good but there also both in completely different leagues with sales.

I might get all the info for GT 1, 2, 3, and 4 of how many PS conosles were out when it sold just to prove how big Gran Turismo is. It's like Final Fantasy in Japan, sales will explode.

I predicted first week in Japan: 500K

                                   America: 700K

                                    Others:  900K

                          so WorlWide:  2.1 million first week

And LTD sales will be around 9 million.

killzone 2 doesn't have half the fan base that gt does - i don't even remember the first killzone. all i remember is being bs'ed by sony at some e3 show year's ago.

even though killzone turned out to be an awesome game, it still can't stand up to the reputation that gt has gained ever since it released for the first ps.

This guestimation game is interesting. About every title released on the PS3 has it pegged as a "system seller". Each time, it does produce a blip, along the lines of the 360 in Japan, but doesn't build up traction.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of Gran Turismo. When the original title hit, it put the monster number of cars in a game genre on the map. It build up a large following and became a franchise. However, as time has gone on, the concept has been replicated a LOT of times. Will need to see how much of an impact GT5 has on things. Considering how late in the game it is set to come out, whether or not it will be a massive system seller or not remains to be seen.
