"A third new studio has been formed by ex-Ensemble development staff.

Newly founded Windstorm Studios is an independent developer "whose mission is to bring a new era to online gaming", according to its founder and president, the fantastically named Dusty Monk.

"We're not quite ready to reveal all of the details of what we're working on just yet, but we can promise you this - it will be an online game unlike anything you've ever seen," said Monk, who added that he's tired of post apocalyptic destruction, grey streets and dark caves.

"... We're ready to build a brighter world! A better online game - a game with the promise of a hopeful future -- cities of glass and steel, and most importantly, flying cars!"

The opening of Windstorm Studios follows the formation of Robot Entertainment and Bonfire Studios by other former Ensemble employees."

How many new studios can these guys start?! But I hope their game will be interesting, I'm sick of old school MMOs, so hopefully they might do something there.

That's great. I'm curious to see what other type of games they can make besides RTS games. All these guys made huge amounts of money with their Age of Empire titles. So I can't to see what else they come up with.

Its not ensemble being huge, they must've had quite a large amount of experienced developers, who can run new studios. They then can employ developers who have been laid off in other studios, as there are plenty in this economic situation. Good news.

Funny that Microsoft ended their own company, for it to spawn multiple other studios, who likely would feel animosity to the 360 and thus not use it.
