I somehow came across this article from a few months ago and almost laughed at how uninformed and downright stupid it was. In a nutshell, this guy thought that when the 360 dropped to $199, it would outsell the Wii simply because it's cheaper. Here's part of the article
As this site has been predicting for a long time, the Xbox 360 is now $199. This is the price point at which historically 75% of consoles sell. However the 360 got to this point very early in its life, so far, far more than 75% of 360 sales are yet to happen. Currently the Wii is above the magic $199 price point, expect it to come down as predicted here. But even at a new, low price point the Wii will have difficulty in perceived value against the Xbox 360.
here's the whole thing-

I know hindsight's always 20/20 but come on.
On this link- http://seekingalpha.com/author/bruce-everiss/articles you can read many more of his amazing and insightful(sarcasm)
takes on the games industry. It's obvious that he's never seen the sales data from VGchartz, or he did and just ignored it altogether.
He also seems to love the 360 and has never heard of the RROD. Here are some of his quotes regarding the 360:
- Elegant design enabling it to be sold at the lowest price point.
- The biggest and best catalogue of games. More than the other two machines put together.
- Xbox Live, by far the biggest and best online gaming portal.
Anyways, have a good laugh. I sure did
