Not watching.

I see nothing wrong with uniting personally, but I don't like that Bush was pursuing that without talking to the people. But then, what else is new. I also think that uniting like that could scare other countries and make us more of a target. Also, how would it effect our voting and governmental systems? Just a lot of questions. I'm sure Obama will deal with the possibilities at some point and voice to us educated options, but the Amero?  haha.

Sure, why not. We would have to fix our drug problem first though.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Over my dead body and I would be the 1st to join in the new civil war that this would start.

I don't think Canada would cause as much of a problem as Mexico, but with as many Spanish citizens as the US has been taking on in the last few years, I'm sure it won't seem as far out there in a few more years.

This.

Canada is one of the most anti-american countries in the world. Right up there with, say, Russia. We like the benefits of being, in many ways, close to the US, but we have differing opinions on many things. Like, say, that poor, unhealthy people deserve a chance to work. Canada isn't a patriotic country, but when it comes to America we love that fact that we aren't them.
