560k for Japan is a bit dissapointing, but it's not as bad as some people are making it out to be.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Consider that its sold 1/10th of Pokemon, NSMB, Animal Crossing (etc..) in Japan - yet would have cost a lot more to develop, and taken years longer - its a (relative) failure.
Those titles have sold more units in JAPAN that TP has worldwide - across two platforms. Nintendogs is up to, what - 12m WW?
Hopefully Phantom Hourglass will break the trend, and do 1m+ in Japan - and 10m+ worldwide (lifetime).
Gesta Non Verba
Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:
Wii code: 2263 4706 2910 1099
It's already more than halfway to OOT numbers, it should break it easily. Especially if it's a players choice and Wii ends up in the 80mil+ sales range.

It's knocking on 15 million.
Nintendo stated they'd take Zelda in a different direction next time but it wasn't anything to do with sales but an articstic decision (a la Majoras Mask and Wind Waker). This was stated long before the game was even released.

Speaking of Wind Waker (and derailing this thread), anyone else think that Nintendo should release some "Wii Editions" of their Game Cube games? Not necessarily changing the content, but just put them in white boxes and at a discount price (under $20). It'd be a great way to expand the audience of criminally overlooked games (Eternal Darkness, for example).
I still think it's unfair to count Nintendogs as one game, because there's a few games right? And I'm sure lots of Nintendogs fans will buy all the games...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

They're all basically the same game. The difference is which dogs you can start with, and which you can unlock. What you start with in version A is locked in version B, and vice versa, so there's really no reason to own all the editions unless you are an obsessive compulsive cartridge collector.

QFT. Some games just do not deserve this treatment. GC have a lot of premium games that almost no one played. I would love to see wiimakes of okami, Psychonauts and Eternal Darkness. Even RE4 sold a little low for being the best game in the series. When I look at Simpsons games numbers I feel even worse.

I would love that. Specially if they made the games compatible with at least classic controler. I have enough peripherals already for the Wii. Actually the way Gamecube compatibility works, is the main reason I have yet to buy a single Gamecube game for the Wii.
