1. The built in WIFI - They could create a proprietary adapter USB and charge $75 for it like MS does.

2. Out of box BD MOVIE playback - They could make a hardware dongle that unlocks BD MOVIE playback, much like the MS DVD remote for DVD MOVIE playback. $25

With these two items removed, which lots of ppl claim they don't want or need, Sony could drop the price to $299, and those who actually want these things could have them for an extra $100.

 edit: Although I hadn't originally said it. Of course, I meant do this for a 'Core' type SKU for those who really don't want these things and just want the console for gaming.

So went Sony says that the PS3 packs more value then the 360 they are wrong, but to remove extras that people do not want it would be also?
