Forums - Sales - Predic LAIR sales in first week!?

I think about 40k. Sony won't promote the game. Retailers will relegate it to back shelves quickly. Word of mouth will spread quickly. It just won't sell.

@Rath - QFT. Except Daikatana is probably a better game, and will probably sell better.

I'm still in some form of shock that this has been screwed up THIS badly. Do F5 really think there will be "another" project? Funded by Sony? Good luck...

I think a bigger problem than Sony's apparent distancing from the game is the weird broken/changed streetdate. Retailers were suddenly informed they could sell the game early and I'd imagine that a good chunk of consumers will be confused about when its coming out -- they'll look for it on the date it was supposed to be released instead of when it was actually available, which will deflate the first week numbers.

The silver lining to this whole situation is that it's quite possible that PS3 owners who were anticipating purchasing Lair but held off after the horrible reviews might take that money and put it towards Warhawk, which is by most accounts a very fun game. So Warhawks's first week numbers might be inflated by Lair's divebomb.

Yeah I thought it was hilarious how Sony didnt even mention Lair at E3. That was just cold. They had to know it wasnt a very good game.

I reckon it will do well considering most people probably don't read the reviews on the internet. If an average gamer saw Lair on the psn with their trailers, I suspect that will swing alot of the gamers to buy Lair. I say 100k - 150k+

Remember, most people who pay 500-600 dollars for a console are fairly experienced gamers and as such read reviews.

Sadley I feel that this game is going to go down as one of the worst games by a first party this gen. I think we will see sales of about 27,000 for this week, and I doubt this title is going to have very good legs, with Warhawk and Heavanly Sword both getting better promotion and press. I am proud to say that I own this game and I feel it is the most unique experiance to come so far this generation. It is deffenetly not accomplishable on any other system, and the controls are great. The games biggest let down is horrible transitions between cutscence and gameplay, in which the dragon continues to fly and when you come back in control you are completely lost for a few seconds. Other than that one problem this is one of my favorite games this gen and one I will be coming back to time and time again.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Some are only HD fan taht are happy to buy a good media/HD/console system for 500$

(people buying the console at amazon.com for the extra BR)

but I agree others are hardcore that read review.

Time to Work !

I think between 100k -125k even though the reviews were bad but it is a very good looking game

50k - 75k

Factor 5 fucked up big time with this game, Sony gave them all the time in the world to finish it and they still fucked it up. The company has been around for a long time and knows how to make flying games and they screwed it up.

90k first week, but the game will sell over 500k during its lifespan.

110-130 K
bad score but great hype ...
