| shams said: I think about 40k. Sony won't promote the game. Retailers will relegate it to back shelves quickly. Word of mouth will spread quickly. It just won't sell. @Rath - QFT. Except Daikatana is probably a better game, and will probably sell better. I'm still in some form of shock that this has been screwed up THIS badly. Do F5 really think there will be "another" project? Funded by Sony? Good luck... |
I think a bigger problem than Sony's apparent distancing from the game is the weird broken/changed streetdate. Retailers were suddenly informed they could sell the game early and I'd imagine that a good chunk of consumers will be confused about when its coming out -- they'll look for it on the date it was supposed to be released instead of when it was actually available, which will deflate the first week numbers.
The silver lining to this whole situation is that it's quite possible that PS3 owners who were anticipating purchasing Lair but held off after the horrible reviews might take that money and put it towards Warhawk, which is by most accounts a very fun game. So Warhawks's first week numbers might be inflated by Lair's divebomb.
