See right there is our middle ground.  The crazy alien technology is extremely small, extremely powerful magnets!  But it is actually kind of fun to think of the ways they could do all this stuff.

I am waiting for an FPS to make a gun that shoots a small ballbearing at 0.9999c.  The effect that would have in atmosphere is catastrophic (even for the shooter).  Realistically it would superheat the air within a fairly large radius of the path but it would also force air out of the path and the air collapsing back in would either crush people or deafen them. I'm not sure how far the ballbearing would go though, there is a lot of things that "could" happen but its all speculation honestly.  The coolest thing would be for it to go until it hits something and explode (Tunguska style).  On second thought that gun would be way too powerful..nevermind =P

Hilarious. It's always refreshing to see someone pull in physics to make someone else look stupid, especially when it involves sci-fi.

QFT.  I mean it's a videogame, what next is someone going to try to use science to explain the light and dark parallel dimensions in Metroid Prime 2 or how the suit in that game can transform into a morph ball with a human inside?

It's quite simple, actually, sir Legend. You see, Samus manages to break every bone in her body, and her insides turn into a gellatinus mass that gels together and takes up significantly less room, capable of being stored in a ball-like substance.

But how the hell does she turn back?!

^^ No I´m pretty sure all the water in her body gets vaporized out and the rest is turned to goo, exept the brain. When she goes back the water is taken from the air around her and the goo is tuned back into whatever it was before with pixiedust. See there is an explanation for everything.

Wow, it really is looking gorgeous. Every new screen that comes out of the game looks better and more polished. I agree the swords should either cast light or have a shadow, but it's a tiny complaint. I can't wait to see more!

Oh jesus, get over yourselves. Are you guys kidding me? You are gonna give me a hard time for being interested in this stuff? Ok you guys are right we aren't on a video game website where we are analyzing the minutia of every video game related fact in existance. I make no apologies for being a geek.

In fact it supports my hobbies quite well, and I'll be damned if I am going to feel ashamed for being interested in this stuff just because two big tough guys on an internet forum want to feel better about themselves.

Hell the entire statement is flat out hypocracy from rocketpig. Here let me quote him from another thread...

"STFU and allow others who do enjoy their upcoming experience witness it without idiotic persecution."

Seriously, at this point you guys are just flamebaiting me, hell thats all the original rocketpig post was. Flat out attacking my viewpoint. If you have a problem report the post, otherwise take rocketpigs advice.

They improved it, not bad, not bad at all, not UT3 still quite nice. Water looks a bit plasticy though.. and I dont think the covenant ships are supposed to look like that (color/texture wise), in the books they were more liquidy. And yes Plasma does give off light. Kinda sad to see the same shadow and animation for running between those two. And the face in the mask looks kinda meh. Will be fun multiplier but still was expecting better out of Bungie. Bungie is normally one of the few dev teams which can make great graphics and gameplay (like Square, Polyphony, Epic, and a few others) but this is kinda sad, I think Gears looks better in some ways. I think they rushed this a bit like Halo 2, should have spent another year on it. Made it a 4th gen 360 game.

There's a big difference between a game like Gears or UT3 and a game like this. Halo 3 will have integrated vehicular combat and their levels are appropriately massive and wide-open to accomodate this. You can't have the same detail in graphics in levels that vast as you do in a 'corridor-style' shooter.

If you've seen the single-player videos going on Hi-Def, I don't think you would be calling out Halo 3 on graphics, either. It looks spectacular.

UT 2004 had vehicle combat since before Halo was released... so your point has a major hole in it. And have you played the maps for UT... even UT 99? I dont think so.. a 1 v 1 map can be small as heck or retardedly massive but layed out to make it fit a 1 v 1 match perfectly.

I have played UT and enjoyed it thoroughly. But the UT multiplayer maps does not equal the Halo 3 singleplayer maps. They're different beasts in terms of geography size. And I'm not saying one is better than another, just that the technical specifications between the two types of games are different.

Which is bigger than the other?

Matters what game type but most UT04 assault and onslaught maps dwarf all of Halo 2's maps completely. So if thats anything.

So since Epic merged assault and onslaught into one gametype for UT3 the maps will be insanely massive. I noticed that even the 1v1 maps are oddly bigger then UT04's in the demo at E3.

I played the behind the scenes single player for Halo 3. =] its a great game, ill give it that. Fun as hell. If any review gives it below a 9.8 im going to be shocked. Its the best of the 3 games of the franchise. I <3 Game Cock Media for getting me access (and the horrid security that let you make fake business cards saying your apart of company X and they believed it. I was apart of GameSpy lmfao when I worked for PSU).

Anyways, I believe its going to be the highest selling of the 3 with only Halo Wars coming close to passing it.

@Kain - i know you seem to have a distaste for anything with a playstation 3 logo on it (probably would hate yourself for a few moments if someone put PS3 sticker on you) but saying Halo would easily beat it is like saying Crisis looks like the original pokemon games (Blue/Red).

What gives you the impression Halo Wars will sell even close to the main game?  I don't think it'll even be the best RTS on the 360.

All wrong Dude. The ball uses Startreck Transporter technology. Samus is beamed up into the suit, where her signal floats around in the buffers while her Intelligence remains active to controll the ball. When she suits back, her signal is just beamed back into the suit.

It's really embarassing that you didn't realize that...

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

^^ It all makes sense now... it is really embarassing that I didn´t know that, I should have been cool and stayed in school. But where did Samus get Startreck tech ??? I sure hope she didn´t have to do Captain Kirk any favours for this stuff.

Next I want to know where she hides all those rockets...I mean she is a woman...they have places to hide stuff...
