Forums - Gaming - Game Leavers: What's your take?

Hello folks, let's have a discussion. Please, have a seat.

Today let's discuss game leavers. Your take on them, do you believe that it's the players right to pick and choose what matches they partipate in? That if there is a player they don't particularly like, or that the other team gets a early lead or advantage that packing up their bags and leaving the game early is the best course of action? Let's discuss.

My personal take on Game leavers is one of annoyance, personally in xbox live. I take the time to fill out bad player reviews for every game leaver I encounter. Lately with Halo Wars and Halo 3, that number has spiked to upwards to 40 players a day. This is not a annoyance for taking the time to submit a bad player review instead this is annoyance that yes they have left prior to a game's ending and their team, or my own team is now suffering because of their actions.

But to be fair, I always like to think of what's their story. Why do they leave? Often I don't believe it's for malicious intent. That they intend to sabotage their own team for the sake of saving themselves some precious minutes so they can start up a different game. Or maybe they have to do something else, I cannot be 100% certain on why they leave the game. But I do know that it does annoy me, even if I try to be understanding.

What is your take on game leavers? Do you understand the reasoning that they may have for leaving? Do you believe they leave for malicious intent? Do you often leave games yourself or do you stick with your team till the very end.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

Around the Network

It depens on the game really. On games like Halo 3 or Gears its annoying because the game is no longer nearly as fun. But games like halo wars its not bad because the game ends quickly enough and its kind of a relief to know that the game will be easy from there on out. But yeah i agree with you on Shooters.

Long Live SHIO!

Every person in a game is having their own experience. If someone goes into a game and is having a really terrible experience then I don't think it's really that wrong in leaving. Maybe that game or gamemode isn't for them or maybe they ended up in match that was bad fit(connection, skill mismatches, griefers).

Still I think alot of people are a bit hasty in leaving. I've been in games that looked hopeless and then my team stage a comeback winning or making a huge gap a real narrow one at the end of the game. These games often have had someone leave and I can't help but think they missed out on something.

Of course there are people who leave games for griefing reasons. Those guys are just sad.

Same as KylieDog, unless the all players are enjoying fun mods (like in Halo 1, this one guy made shotguns shoot needles, and made the needler a grav. gun, and made the mauler nuke everything... stuff like that... That was cool...)

When I would leave SC4, it would be because of inappropriat sex noisees or Languge, sometimes too many of the same character too
