Forums - Gaming - Do you like violence in video games?

Everyone on this site enjoys violence in their games, sparing no one. The only people that don't would be those stuck strictly on puzzle games and alternative games like Tetris, Zuma, Wii Fit, etc.

I think it's more fair to say that everyone enjoys games with violence in them.

I enjoy violence in and of itself at levels which are appropriate to the setting of the game.

I like some violent games, but I really wish they weren't the overwhelming majority of the market. I miss when you could get shooters, happy-go-lucky platformers, racers, fighting games, puzzle games, etc, all on the same console--and everyone liked them.

I miss the N64...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

How is that different than what I said?

If it has some meaning/substantial purpose than yes. Otherwise, no.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I do, but it's not home to 'very many' quality shooters, especially of the split-screen variety.  Only really has one amazing platforming game, too (even though it's the best platformer ever, in my opinion).  Only one really great fighting game, too (Brawl).  Don't get me wrong, I love Wii a ton, but no console this generation is the be-all, end-all for most genres like the N64 was.

Exactly! I think you need the question to be a bit more specific with how much and what kind. As you can find violence in everyhting, look at kid friendly disney.

I think he's saying that people may not particularly like the game because it has violence in it, but they like a game that just so happens to have violence in it, and they may be indifferent to the violence.

i love it

I don't think anyone can be categorized as indifferent to the violence in games since removing it from most games would substantially change the game it is. You may not go into the Legend of Zelda looking for violence but if it were removed, theres a good chance you would no longer enjoy the game.
