Forums - Gaming - What do YOU want to see in MGS5? (snake, raiden, johnny, meryl...or else?)

Set between MGS2 and MGS4 as either Snake or Raiden.

whats wrong with johnny. If anything, he has the potential to be one of the most interesting to play.

He was a cool character till Kojima butchered him in MGS4.

I face wanted to go in the nearest wall during the second half of the game.

Sunny!

Signature goes here!

? why? he was funny.

Think about how great it would be to turn him into an elite assassin/ spy.

I agree that he and his grandfather were funny in MGS1, 2, and 3. However, I don't like the direction Kojima took Johnny in MGS4. Having him crap his pants early on was kind of funny, but the stuff later on with Meryl (and the attempted ass grab of Mei Ling) was going overboard in my opinion.

I see where you are coming from, he was kinda over the top... nevertheless he is a popular character

he wasn't funny, he was annoying. I'm pretty sureh e drugged up Meryl on meth when he was resusing her, she married a lamp-post with a broken light and a car still crashed into it. *goes into fetal position* "can't sleep, johnny will eat me"

Obviously this message will contains *SPOILERS*.

I want to see a battle for power in the time after the Patriots. Snake must not be the main character, however he may be a supporting character who can be connected via codec. Playable character is a bit hard question: Raiden won't do as a ninja (probably too action-focused, though it could work). Johnny doesn't feel like a playable character. Meryl... Not a good idea. Even Otacon would be better. I suppose having a new playable character could be the best, though it would require VERY careful design.

The story will need to be better than in MGS4, preferably better than in MGS3 too. MGS2 would be on a good level but it could be simplified a bit to make it more accessible (but not too accessible). MGS3 and especially MGS4 have much in their stories but in the end, they are both very simple.

Gameplay must remain focused on stealth. MGS4 was way too action-oriented. It was advertised as having a choice but it felt pretty strange that both ways were effective, with the exception that stealth was slower. Sure, higher difficulty levels pretty much (but not completely) fixed this but it's just not MGS. It you want a shooter, get Killzone or GeoW or something like that. MGS is supposed to be stealth.

And finally... Add trophy support for MGS4 and get rid of the installs in MGS5.

Actually my final wish will be that Kojima will be able to do whatever he wants, and so far it seems that it's definitely not MGS. Yep, I hope it's not Kojima this time.
