Forums - Gaming - Great Im going to have to get a DS now! WTF Square! WTF!

So maybe some of you remembered but A while ago I went crazy when I finished playing Square's Crisis Core. I went out and Bought every Final Fantasy Game on the PS1 except VIII and IX(Which I will get to later this month). Some of you said that Playing Chrono Trigger and FFIV on the PSX was a horrible experience.

At first I couldnt understand why. The PSX had the anime cutscenes and it being a better system then the SNES I couldnt comprehend why you would say that they are a chore to play.

Well now I know....Everytime I get into a battle on either IV or Chrono Trigger I see a black screen for a disturbing 6secs on its best day and 12secs on its worst day. Each and Every battle. I cant take it anymore >.< I wanna play Chrono Trigger so Bad now that Im probably going to have to get it on the DS but I want to ask some of the people who have played Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy Remakes on the DS How are they? Are the load times just as bad?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I don't remember any load time from the FF remakes. I understand what you feel though, I had to endure it during my whole Killer 7 playthrough, moving from room to room meant a few secs of loading but enough to irritate me :P

I say "go for it".

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

No load times

Hell no they have no loading times whatsoever.

Buy now.

lots of extra stuff on trigger and FFIV is in exellent 3D grahpics.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Chrono isn't even supposed to have battle screen transitions. I played the SNES and DS versions so I wouldn't know about loading times, they're perfect.

On the DS I thought the animated cutscenes were a little anti-climatic. I prefer playing the game with them off, it's more charming and flows better.

if you own the game is ok to use an emulator and play on your pc, im not sure if you can get the snes version legally is you purchased the psx version but that is truly the best one.

At first I thought this was going to be a "Damn you Square-Enix, because of TWEWY I now need to replace my touchscreen! RAWR!!!!!"

I guess not.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Yeah just download an emulator, you already have the game.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."
