^ they are japanese so shush.

That is part of their problem. They are Japanese. Because of the currency situation, Japanese companies are taking a beating. Japanese companies by in large get most of their income from exports. With the Yen's value so high, companies on the brink are  starting to lose their shirts. Even strong companies like Nintendo are seeing the effects of the strong Yen. Ask the retailers in the UK about the currency situation.

i mean the university that did the research.

Obviously developers would like to see a price cut. Heck, they'd like to see a price cut on 360 and Wii too. The more consoles sold the happier they are. Period.
But the notion that PS3 will lose support is rubbish. As long as they are making games for 360/PC the majority of those will also go onto PS3. Why wouldn't they?

It will lose any 3rd party exclusives but that's already to be expected.

How could Sony internally even justify dropping the price and losing millions more when they are laying people off. At this point millions lost are hundreds of jobs lost too. Unless Sony themselves see a equal or greater return on price cuts it simply won't happen.

Ah okay, I misunderstood you. My mistake. Sorry man.

With GTA IV sales 50/50 and RE5 sales 55/45 in favor of PS3. I don't think Publishers are in any position to put pressure on Sony.

Wow...that's some serious denial buddy you're feeling.

1. If the content of that article is all true, then prehaps third parites have forgotten whose job it is to attract users to that platform. 2000 really is the age of greed, if they want more people to buy Sony PS3 then do so with more than words, it takes total exclusivity, what would happen if GTAIV, FFXII, CoD4, and so many others were Ps3 exclusives? Look at how stunted Cod 5 Wii sales were and it was probably in whole due to the lack of CoD4 on Wii. (That is in terms of market sizes)

2. Contextually, this article is every where at once, so I'm trying to nail it down, someone said cherry picked and that's probably why it seems so random. The over all point is doom and gloom though and if Japan is anything to go by then it's clear hardware movement isn't a problem for the PS3 as long as the software is there and made public.

Hmm. I feel I've heard this before.

You did.

In 2007.

Sometime between August and November a few publishers compelled Sony to drop the price and focus their marketing. Wada was specially vocal, but at that time FF13 was still exclusive so his company had a lot vested on Sony's console.

^plz stop...I HATE when people say that, SONY's havin a rough time thats it

Stop what? Stating the obvious?

The truth is Sony is bleeding money, especially their game sector. If you didn't notice, the Playstation sector is being merged with two other sectors. If it were as strong as some people want it to be, it would have been it's own division.

I think this is a good sign of the Playstation brand going niche.

u know microsoft entertaiment division it's the same now?

if by that you are saying 360 and all the xbox brand it's niche so be it.

because they have their online entertaiment and zune sales on it.
